2011 Eliminator Thread

How much money he eliminates me now? Both have the Sandi, Smith problem and Pendles, Selwood and a collingwood forward out. Interesting week

Up against pelly's plight who is ranked 116 overall. It's been good while it lasted.

Got Cheese Cutters ranked ~5450 to me ~2950 overall. Very generic team but they only have 1 Collingwood player (Swan) and no Selwood, Montagna etc. They got through with score of 2008 last round. Only issue for them is Adcock. Their most unique player = Harry Taylor.

I'm reasonably confident that I have a slightly better team than them but am harder hit with Swan, Pendlebury, Selwood out and the last 2 weeks I thought I was the underdog in my matchups and managed to pull through so I'm nervous when I probably go in as (Just) favourite.

I have a feeling lots of higher ranked teams are going to get turned over this week.

I'm ranked inside the top 100 and my opponent is ranked around 10K. He has nothing left to play for except the eliminator, so he'll no doubt be doing everything to get the win.

We've both got Swan/Pendlebury on the bench (and I'm obviously holding onto them), but if he decides to trade them both for premium mids, he'll pretty much start favourite.

Got some1 called "Big Test Icicles" ranked around 20k this week after knocking off a pair of ppl in the top 2k the last 2 weeks. Has a few pie players, and I only have Swan, so should start fav. Montagna is a bit of a worry tho.

Smith will also be a big out this week for those who are using him as cover for Sandi. Injuries are always going to occur to the odd player but this season it seems to have been the curse for a lot more premium players and when you throw in the bye it is just chaotic for those lucky enough still to be in the eliminator

I'm ranked 1075 and we've almost got identical squads lol. Comes down to 6 different players

Him - Hibberd, Jacobs, Heppell, SJ, Fyfe, Sylvia

We both have Cox/Sandi/Smith as well as Selwood. Gonna be damn close.

Deciding to trade with eliminator somewhat in mind and get Sylvia this week and keep Knights so I don't need to play 2 forwardline rookies. Selwood --> gun and Iles -> Sylvia should give me a little more confidence going in this week.

Before trades, he has 5 Collingwood players (I have none); we have an almost identical forward line except for one player - Harvey (me) and Rioli (him); he has David Hale as ruck backup for Smith - I have no backup.

Could be a close one......

Assuming that he/she will cover that zero, it should be pretty close, but I am quietly confident..

Made Shiels captain even though gut reckons Cox will probably score a fair bit better - just wanted to back Shiels in. Anyway, I think I have the real edge in defence this week and hope thats enough to get me over the line. Really need Knights to repay my faith after I decided not to trade him this week after intending to for a long time. I'm worried that Lecras (even though playing Port in west), Knights and captain Shiels will let me down and I'll get beaten even though really think I should win this matchup.

In a bit of trouble I think due to my Heppell & Knights and then Mitchell, Hibberd, Swallow scoring above average for them. Shiels as captain worked ok but I think Cox would have been a better option.

I can definitely see Goodes, Lower, Taylor and Duigan combining for about 331 and then it will be down to the matchups above which I think they will win by at least 50. Hoping that Gibbs goes to Goodes and shuts him down and don't care about the impact upon his own scoring. Also hoping that Murphy is tagged heavily and that Baker keeps Johnson quiet tonight.

Just wish had gone Ablett as Captain instead of Boyd, which has been worst performed player so far. Kudos to Max Bailey, covering for Smith and Sandi with an 84!!!

2 miracles have occurred so far - our choices of captain, and now bartel subbed off. if the trend of scores continues for tonight, i might actually cause a boilover here. i'll be about 300 behind but have 7 more players to go.

and my whole team is from interstate clubs.
