So realistically we could even peak at 40k this year, if you throw in 2/3 of last year's renewals and maybe 3000-5000 new sign-ups.

At this point, the club should be aiming at 40k as a minimum - the season hasn't even started yet!

I still know a few Dee's that haven't renewed as of yet, I will be on their backs shortly

Well I would suggest that this year we will increase our attendance over 10% as more interest surrounds our matches from not only Demons supporters but also from neutrals.

2009 Attendance:

Total: 636,234
Rank: 13th

2010 Attendance:

Total: 799,889
Rank: 9th

Increase: 25%

Hopefully we can break 900k!

Just got mine. It kept wanting me to just renew my old membership but i wanted to go from the 11 to 17 game this year, hope it doesn't stuff up the "consecutive years" thing.

EDIT: Looking at last years figures, we didn't seem to reach the 30k mark until ~22/4, so we are a whole month ahead.

I was at the MFC shop asking about this - they said 30k members with 7,000 yet to renew.

The way their stats have worked in the past is 90% retentation of renewals so they expect around ~6.5k - that would mean around 36,000 and we're looking for 4,000 new members

So we need to try and knock out some of the early draw!!!

FOR THE FIRST time in Melbourne’s history, the club has reached 30,000 members before the start of the premiership season.

It’s a remarkable achievement, considering the club’s full year target just two years ago was 30,000 members.

The Demons achieved the milestone at 12.47pm on Tuesday.

Melbourne president Jim Stynes was delighted with the number, but added that the 40,000 membership number remains the focus for 2011.

“While we’ve still got a lot of work to do to achieve 40,000 members, reaching 30,000 members before round one is a great start to the year,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“The foundation we’ve built for the season is important, as we strive and reach 40,000 members.

“I really want to thank each and every one of you for helping us get to this total so far, but we need everyone who supports the red and blue to join up as a member.”

Melbourne now has 4,000 more members than it did at the same stage last year.

More than 4,600 members are new this year.

And there are still 7,000 members yet to renew from 2010.

Reserved seating in the Olympic Stand is also close to being sold out.

Means it counts in your 11, we have reciprical home matches with Hawthorn so when our teams play, both teams members can use their 11 game meeberships.

It was cooked up by management when we sold a home game to Darwin, very good thinking too!

Doesn't mean much to me as I bought a 17 gamer, just wondering about my brothers.

So you can swap a home game against Adelaide for the Hawthorn one, but it will count as one of your 11??

I think the key to getting 40 K members is how we start the year, aside from the round 1 debarcle to Hawthorn in 2010, our next 4 games delivered a lot of promise to the supporters and reason to sign up. Another exciting and promising start to this year with some good wins will no doubt gain a few more members!

IMO if we had of done a little better in the practice matches it would have bought a few more members in similar to the bombers this year and bulldogs last year.

If i've purchased my membership before Sunday, but i dont receive my stuff in the mail, what do i do in terms of getting into the game? Am i just stuffed until i get the membership card?

Ive logged into the ticketek membership thing and theres nothing there about printing a temporary ticket or anything. In fact there's nothing under 'manage my memberships', just an invoice for renewing my membership from last year (which i didnt want to do, ask i upgraded from 11 to 17 game...). The payment has gone through so i might have to call the club :/

Go to the Tent located at gate 3 & they will give you tickets to get in & if you have reserved seats you will probably get an upgrade to level 2 for this match...

All I can say is I resign from worrying about the re-signing of those resigned to re-sign at some point. I hope the club which they signed with before or after they resigned or re-signed can help them to sign, re-sign or resign, so we can put the issueas to who we should be assigning to sign to their intent. Can we just get someone to sign as to whether they will sign, re-sign or resign?
