Here is a list of things I desperately want to see next year from the MFC. I've gone so far as to call them non-negotiables, i.e. their fulfillment is PARAMOUNT, no ifs or buts.

If I was DB I would draw up a list similar to this and plaster it all over the club, to show the boys that the only way forward is up ( :D )

NN #1. Win in Adelaide- I've had enough of this AAMI Stadium bullshit, and I'm sure the players have too. If we don't beat either Port or the Camry's over there this year, I will resign myself to the fact that it is never going to happen.

NN#2. Win games we're favourites in- The game v. West Coast at the G this year was the most sordid affair I've been to. If we're a genuinely improving side, we have to start beating sides that we're meant to.

NN#3. Beat North Melbourne at least once- They have a great stock of developing youngsters, as do we, but they've had the wood over us recently. Would love to see us get over them at least once to get some bragging rights back.

NN#4. Win at Etihad- Similar to the Adelaide scenario, we need to show that we're not a one arena pony. We went some way to dispel that myth this year with wins in Darwin/Brisbane, and if we can win in Darwin why not over the other side of the city? Hopefully we only play one or two games there anyway.

NN#5. Beat Gold Coast- this one takes on new meaning especially if it looks like we're going to be the first team to lose to them.

That's all i can think of for now. You might have noted some big omissions, such as making the eight. All i can say is that i'd like to have another similar year drilling some more games into other kids (Jizz, Blease, Strauss) than making it to no.8 and leaving Wk 1. It's a contentious point, and obviously if we can do both (kids and finals) i would be ecstatic. But at this stage, finals are not yet a non-negotiable for mine.

Others?

I wouldn't worry too much about #5. GC will defeat Richmond in Round 2.

As for the others, I totally agree. Especially the 'Win at AAMI' one.

Jim Stynes' full recovery should be at the top of the list. The rest will hopefully look after themselves.

My list would be a bit different

1. Keep playing the developing players (obviously). GAMES GAMES GAMES!

2. Secure the playing list to ensure Western Sydney can't swipe any young guns (think we have signed most already)

3. Continue to develop an adaptable game style and drill it into everyone, everyday.

If we keep this list together and continue to develop/play together we'll be winning games every where.
AAMI record is pathetic though, agree with you there. Dees will smash GFC :thumbsu:

One thing the MFC players have to ensure in the future is that the MCG becomes a fortress for us & that opposition teams will dread playing us there!
A game like the one against West Coast just can't happen,we just have to start consistently beating teams around our position on the ladder as we start to work our way up it!

i heard that geelong rebranded themselves because their logo simply stated gfc but then showed the cartoonish cat, if I heard correctly the rebranded becasue of that.
