What's the point of including players who were never going to be drafted anyway? All that proves is that GWS had a good deal with zoning concessions. So if Jeremy Cameron becomes a legend of the game, he doesn't belong to any class, whether its 2010 or 2011. It's the same as rating a draft class but not including PSD or Rookie selections. And I would argue that the purpose of the thread is rating players who entered the AFL system at a given time.

They should be included in the 2012 draft along with the rest of the 94 group.

Cameron and other pre-listed players should be included. Should be about the players not measuring dicks and bitching about the lack of access too these players.

McInnes is a developing tall, a foreign concept down at Fremantle. Newman is a gun, no mistaking his off field issues threaten to end his career. But on the assessment of a player based on talent he was a good selection. Hopefully he's still with us in 2013 and beyond as he'll press for selection.

Tunbridge in the rookie draft looks good as well. He's been elevated and could be set for a big 2014. Unique player physically as he's tall, explosive and plays short.

Ok - this seems to be a very strong draft to me. My favourite value selection/non-Hawthorn player is Sam Kerridge. Played very well against us (great job as defensive forward on Grant Birchall)and also won a game off his own boot against North. Not sure why he didn't play more in the last half of the season but really impressed me when I saw him play. I like the cut of his jib.

Which is great in hindsight, but in reassessing the draft it's not something you could predict. There are more than a few players who could and have found themselves in similar situations.

A quiet draft for us and not much to talk about it for us so far but I think we will know a lot more after this year. Bmac is knocking on the door of our best 22 and if he is good enough will break into it this year. His kicking is sublime and he showed glimpsed towards the end of the season that he is on the verge of breaking out. If he doesn't manage to establish himself this year he might look elsewhere.

Our only other pick was Curran and he has hardly got on the park for two years. He's shown something when he has and will hopefully be fit this year but another serious injury might be one too many

Yes, It's obvious you don't rate Hill, and you overrate Baguely.

Luke Breust. For the game, Breust kicked two goals,the first in the last quarter when the Hawks were already 50 points up and Goddard was defending him and the second to put Hawthorn 10 goals up with 3 minutes left. Conceding one goal and one behind to a 40 goal a season forward in the junk time of a 56 point loss is a fair effort.

For the game, Breust kicked two goals,the first in the last quarter when the Hawks were already 50 points up and Goddard was defending him and the second to put Hawthorn 10 goals up with 3 minutes left. Conceding one goal and one behind to a 40 goal a season forward in the junk time of a 56 point loss is a fair effort.

Breust also took 6 marks for the game, his second highest tally of marks in one game for the entire season.

I would agree it's a 'fair' effort, nothing more. Certainly not 'doing a number' on him.

One of his kicks was so bad hird tried to hide behind his hands in disgust. At 27 at the start of next year not sure he has much footy left. Will disappear from this thread - especially when this crop is 27.

Being an over-aged small forward with possible behavioural issues I would imagine if he went to the draft he would end up as a late/rookie selection. But on current output he would easily rate inside the top 20, but he is a year older then the rest of them and that extra year of development makes a hugh difference at that age.

He was responsible for exactly two North goals. One was Lindsay Thomas kicking his only goal for the match in the opening minutes, and the second was that turnover that made Hird put his head in hands. He let his man get goal side once and he turned it over for a goal once. No need to stretch the truth.

1.37 - LT assist - ball watching and lost his man - ended up in a goal.
4.20 - coughed it up under pressure - direct result = goal
6.53 - shank kick - hird disgusted = goal
7.50 - no pressure on Adams = another goal.

They are just the mistakes he made that resulted in goals - let alone the others in general play.

I can understand why other club supporters wouldn't rate him yet owing to his slight frame (lack of physical presence), but Hill is a a ripper. Great presence of mind with the ball, kicks to leading forward beautifully and runs like the wind. I expect to see his name higher up the list in years to come.

here i was thinking most clubs had issues with newmans temperament before the draft.
newman a risk and likely gone.
mcinnes looks decent
also promoted hams and traded 49 for josh hill. not one of the eagles better trade/draft efforts imo.

Clubs take similar risks every draft. Newman might have been immature but there wasn't anything unusual about him.

Agree with the trade effort. Ebert and 45 for 28 and 49 was piss weak.

1, wingard is soo overrated, soft front runner who does flashy stuff, will get exposed this year, how he was AA is beyond me
2, brad hill is terrible
3, taylor adams will cement himself as a top 2 or 3 from this draft within 10 weeks of the 2014 season
