Would rather concentrate on the $50K TBH.

It's great being in these Private Leagues, and each league is Elite in it's own right, but I'm just there to contribute in an area that has like minded people that just want to get the best out of their teams by 'Sharing' and not 'Taking' any ideas or thoughts they may have without the hoards and trolls that pollute these boards now.

Good luck to which ever league wins, but a no from me

As a poker player i do like the sound of that +EV situation ringing in my ears but...

I represent a team. i have great confidence in my team. As already posted in this thread i am looking to back my team in a bet against any other team in the country.

I really dont run on individual ego, nor need to make an individual bet (ill leave that to PK ). Im pretty sure i would be a favourite against you, but im gonna stick to my plan here - i want to make a team bet.

Pick a league and ill bet against it.

First and foremost you represent yourself, let's not beat around the bush.

And yes you were in a league that finished mid top ten last year (don't remember exactly). I could equally say I was in a league that finished second in 2009.

But at the end of the day, in a league bet each individual from the winning league only doubles their money anyway.

You don't seem to have any takers for the league bet, you consider yourself a favourite against me, the game is entirely in our hands rather than only 6% influence - what are you waiting for?

But you are - you're interested in a 'my league is better than yours' contest.

And I edited your post as it was criticism of the actions of a moderator which can be an infractable offence. You are a good poster and I was enjoying debating the merits of a league bet with you and do not want to infract you, so I cut your snyde comment at the end. If you have a problem with that then the correct process is to contact the administrators. But play the ball and not the man.

At short notice it looks as though SCE won't gather enough interest as a league to take on YSCCE.

Because that bet involves a whole stack of variables either outside of my control or unknown to me.

Yes one can bet on things that are outside of one's control, but usually one would want a fair idea of who is participating. I have no idea who you have in that league for starters. It's like betting on a match without knowing who is playing.

Im not sure why the composition of my league is so important. We are 16 of the top coaches going around - that has to be assumed given the 'elite' moniker. Surely it doesnt matter who they actually are. I dont know the make up of your group, but that doesnt bother me at all.

If its any help PK (former runner up) is a member of the group - as he indicated in this thread.

Offer stands. Happy to halve it, double it or watever u want as long as it is still 50/50. You have til Friday to accept.

Top coaches could mean anything. Perhaps your founder mark_91 is in it, perhaps he's not - but to my knowledge his best results came in 2009 with a rank of 318. Or maybe he's not in there and you are full of players from last year's top 30. Who knows.

I've given you reason after reason why I am not comfortable under the current circumstances taking you on in a league bet. Conversely you have retorted with weak lines on why you won't take me on one-on-one, and then jumped at the chance when asked in both a cash league or combined with a league bet.

I would definitely take my group over a league consisting of the top 16 ranked coaches from last year. My group is more likely to back it up than those guys.

I misread your initial post as you did know the members of my league, before I removed it.

As I said, I'm not interested under the current circumstances.

Cash leagues will generate far stronger demand as the bet placer is master of his own fate, rather than leaving it in the hands of 15 people he's never met.

Im not looking for a cash league, im already entered in a few of those. There is no prize for the no.1 league so i was looking to create some extra interest in that competition. I know there are a few groups that make it their aim to go for that overall league ranking. I thought the bet between SCE and YSCCE created extra interest last year and was something we enjoyed doing as a team. its not even about the money - its about the rivalry and the competition - the money is a reward/punishment for results which gives the competition meaning.

FFC were contacted privately and declined the bet. I thought they would probably take it up, but they said betting is not part of their philosophy to bet $. That is fair enough - the people that run FFC seem like pretty good bunch of guys.

If any1 from FFC reads this and would like to have a personal bet between myself and them regarding the league then they should PM me.
