Just a question about YSCCE. The 'YSCCE Collab team', is that a Group Think team where you will make decisions on trades/everything, as a group?

Is this team part of the YSCC Ace league?

As Marcus said, its not part of any of the YSCCE leagues. i dont think it is the ideal way to run a team as collaborative decisions can tend towards conservativism, but its a bit of fun.

@ Bailz66 - we totally understand your reluctance to put $ on this. Our group has a few poker players in it so we are probably prone to a bit of gamble.
I really wish there was supercoach with an entry fee so you could win prizemoney with places getting $ too. I think there would be a fairly big market for this like there is in the US.

sblack - it's fair to say Everitt was a late bolter for some of our teams driven in part by the late ditching of Otten over concerns of him being the sub and pre-thought out structures having a mid-priced player in that position. Not that I can speak for everyone (and not everyone has him) but that was why I ended up with Everitt. After an underwhelming 61 last week it's also fair to say the jury is out on him. Lets see how he goes this week. I still hold out hope on him.

How did the SCE rate Everitt? I guess not much if his inclusion surprised you?

Interesting that Everitt was so common.

I tried to warn them.

I think that as a group we were probably more willing to take on midpricers this year than some of the other elite teams i have seen

Everitt was in a total of 1 from 32 SCE teams

I think he was mentioned, but with the uncertainty over the roles of the Sydney backmen, I think he was passed on. Was a similar reason why Grundy was dropped from quite a few.

Can I ask you both: how much time do you spend on your SC teams? If you could hazard a guess at total hours over a season, roughly what would it be?

Preseason? Maybe an hour a day browsing BigFooty and other websites on average for a couple of months.

You could get the exact same team with far less research though.

No idea how long i spend on this stuff - my wife could probably tell you tho. But as SJ says, you dont have to spend that much time on it. I spend extra time because I just love discussing footy.

Yep, i agree with this. Im not a huge fan of picks between 250 and 350k. I took Ward in my own team (low end of that scale) but i think in general it is a price bracket that i try hard to avoid.

We do need to remember that it is only 1 round tho. Both Everitt and Yarran could go on to avg 90 for the year.

YSCCE Kings league has a bet against BFDiv 1 and 2. (private amound against sidebottom to beams) Kings are currently 3rd while BF Div 1 is 17th.

And, yeah, i have a team rankings bet of $100 against SJ. He is top 100 already and the highest ranked SCE team so it looks like i might be in trouble (tho Im ranked 333rd)

Unfortunately, there is no bet between SCE, FFC, YSCCE and Tooserious. That doesnt mean that there is no competition tho. Currently the YSCCE Aces league is ranked 1st, YSCCE Kings 3rd, YSCC Div. 1 4th, FFC 5th, YSCCE Jacks 6th, SCE 7th, FFC 8th. There are 3 tooserious leagues not far behind.

That's just effectively a weekly ranking though. Will mean very little in the long-term.

There are only 2 teams in both SCE leagues combined who went with Everitt.

I think most of us agreed he was just awkwardly priced and there were quite a few unknowns with him.

Although, there are 11 of us from the 2 leagues combined who went with Yarran who is in a similar price range and also has some question marks about him.

I'm not sure either of them will end up being good picks, to be honest.

In the red corner, is Vandemon, the forest gump of Supercoach. With only a couple of top 1000 results under his belt split by a couple of horror 30k+ results, Vandemon is riding the Supercoach rollercoaster! But the good news is, this year is his turn for a top 1000 year - thank the lord!
