Some people say it's been an average year for forwards, but I disagree. Both Cloke & Buddy are having great years, whilst Kennedy is also having a super season.
Great post but I completely disagree with this part.

Cloke and Franklin outstanding. Kennedy best of the rest. Had his 10 goal game, had a great run after that. Has had a lot of quiet games though.

A few years ago it was Franklin, Brown, Bradshaw, Fevola, Riewoldt and Pavlich dominating the talls. Porpylzia, LeCras, Akermanis, Higgins, O'Keefe, SJ, Chapman, Didak etc. dominating the medium/small forwards.

Retirement, injury, form and moving into the middle have taken it's toll on that group.

Who do we have now?

Cloke, Franklin no problems. Kennedy and Petrie have been fine. Goodes playing well but out of position in the forward line.

SJ is still playing well but plays much more time in the middle now. Garlett, Walker, ?????

There will never be a shortage of mids but the amount of good forwards/defenders per year can fluctuate a fair bit. Two years ago it was hard to pick a worthy AA defender. I think had Lake at CHB in my AA team because there were no CHB's worthy. This year, there are 12+ having an AA standard season imo.

Round 16:

Struggled a bit due to not seeing much over the last month. So shoot me down if I'm way off. Took a few of the injured players out since they are out for so long and wasn't sure what to do with Watson/Selwood.

It's probably easier if club supporters rate their players in order eg. WC poster rates Cox, Priddis, Hurn etc. in order. That way it's easier to build the list once the individual club has the correct order.

Should be fine to do it weekly for the rest of the year and it should get more accurate as each week passes.

EDIT: Might have missed a few unluckies again. eg. Robinson from Carlton has probably joined that group now.

You've got the Geelong players in pretty much the right order if you ask me.

I'd have it:

Kelly (seems to be maybe slightly high on your list)
Johnson
Scarlett
Selwood (really hard to rank. I think you've got him and Watson about right on the list)
Corey
Enright

Beyond that it's Taylor, Ling, Chapman and Bartel but they probably all miss the cut.

And your overall top 5 is exactly as I'd have it too.

My turn then:
1. Cox
2. Hurn
3. Priddis
4. Naitanui
5. Glass

Missing out:
6. Scooter
7. Kennedy
8. Lynch
9. Rosa
10. Embley
11. Shuey
12. Kerr
13. LeCras

Bet you didn't expect that order.
In all fairness, this is your top 50 list and it's probably not footy PC to even consider Naitanui for the list. But he's been better than Coxy the last 5-6 weeks.

I've got WC a fair off then if you've got NicNat 4th. Would have had him about 8th at best.

NicNat's hard to rate. May have minimal touches but have a huge impact. Like in the Derby earlier this year, he had 12 touches and 20 HOs but most maintain he was in the top 3 on the ground. Or on the weekend he had 13 touches and 24 HOs but was arguably top 3 (Embley the stand-out).

In terms of what he's done in the team this year he's one of our most valuable players and most WC supporters will attest (I hope) they think he'll be top 5 in performances this year.

Selwood's another worth considering. May not have the huge games like JK but has been one of our most consistent players all year. He consistently beats (or breaks even) against top line mids. Probably get Dal this Saturday so will be interesting to see how he goes.

For Essendon I'd have the top 10:

Watson
Zaharakis
Hocking
Heppell
Hurley
Crameri
Fletcher
Hardingham
Jetta
Howlett

Not that it matters as most of them are a fair way off Top 50.

Thought Hooker, Hille and Monfries might get mentions in your list (despite the Monfries HS article today). Also Hibbert has played really well the last month or so.

It's the Goodes factor. 15 touches is enough to be a game breaker for those types.

Hadn't really noticed NicNat being talked up until last the last few weeks though. For a big profile he seemed to have had a quiet season up to R11ish.

You'll have a better idea then me though, so I'll switch some of the Eagles around.

Hille has been rubbish IMO, last week was alright but mostly down on confidence and has been really struggling to make a contest when forward. Hooker would be close but not quite. Monfries I forgot about and would definitely be in there. Hibberd has been good as well but missed the first 4-5 weeks IIRC.

I'd leave it until you get confirmation from other Eagles supporters.

Games worth noting where he stood out were:
Rd 3 - Sydney (14 touches; 5 tackles; 28 HOs);
Rd 7 - Ess (24 touches; 3 tackles; 27 HOs);
Rd 8 - Frem (12 touches; 10 tackles; 20 HOs);
Rd 9 - WB (19 touches; 6 tackles; 17 HOs); - albeit that everyone was a good player this game.
Rd 11 - GC (12 touches; 4 tackles; 24 HOs)
Rd 12 - Adel (13 touches; 4 tackles; 22 HOs)
Rd 16 - Geel (13 touches; 5 tackles; 24 HOs)

Again, though, statistics don't do him justice. There will be times where he will just bullock the ball out of the centre square without getting a possession (or smash it as far).

I guess it is his tandem work with Cox that makes him stand out. He might look better now statistically if he wasn't sharing the ruck duties but it is better for him in the long run.

His tapwork has become sublime. Real breath-catching stuff (and better than Cox IMO).

What about Hooker?

What about Hooker?

He was good but from memory a couple of people got a hold of him, and his disposal was a little shaky under pressure in the first few rounds. His marking from opposition kicks was awesome though. He has also missed a couple, would definitely be 11-13th range.

For Collingwood, with --- separating pretty clear tiers imo:

Pendlebury
-------
Thomas
-------
Cloke
Shaw
Ball
-------
Reid
Swan
Tarrant
O'Brien
Davis

I thought he was brilliant vs. Carlton. Impresses me every time he plays with his presence.

Just a quick estimate for the Eagles top 10 or so

1. Cox
2. Priddis
3. Kennedy (been awesome in one game v Dogs but has slowed recently)
4. LeCras (won't poll as highly in our B&F as he has missed games)
5. Embley
6. Hurn
7. Kerr
8. Glass
9. Naitanui
10. Rosa
11. Butler/Scott Selwood/Lynch/Shuey

Gee, you're a harsh marker. What does Embley have to do this year to get a mention?

Well, let's have a look at the coaches votes:

Totals:
1. Cox - 37 votes
2. Priddis - 30 votes
3. Embley - 28 votes
4. Hurn - 24 votes
5. Kennedy - 21 votes
6. Kerr - 21 votes
7. Rosa - 18 votes
8. Shuey - 18 votes
9. Lynch - 17 votes
10. LeCras - 15 votes
11. Naitanui - 10 votes
12. A Selwood - 7 votes
13. S Selwood - 7 votes
14. Nicoski - 5 votes
15. Ebert - 3 votes
16. Darling - 3 votes
17. Glass - 3 votes
18. Mackenzie - 1 vote

So I've basically shot myself in the foot here but I feel fine disagreeing with the coaches choices seeing as players like Butler, Schofield and Smith are not on that list.

Or the BigFooty medal:

Totals:

1. Cox - 20 votes
2.
Embley - 18 votes
3.
Priddis - 16 votes
4. Hurn - 13 votes
5. Naitanui - 12 votes
5. Kerr - 12 votes
5. LeCras - 12 votes
8. Kennedy - 8 votes
8. Shuey - 8 votes
10. Rosa - 6 votes
11. Lynch - 5 votes
12. Ebert - 4 votes
13. Darling - 3 votes

13. Glass - 3 votes
15. A Selwood - 2 votes

This looks reasonably accurate and Naitanui falls equal 5th.
Anyway, AG, food for thought.

Or The Age Footballer of the Year

Totals:
1. Cox - 64 votes
2. Kerr - 44 votes
3. Priddis - 43 votes
4. Embley - 40 votes
5. Naitanui - 29 votes
6. Kennedy - 16 votes
7. Hurn - 15 votes
7. Lynch - 15 votes
9. Shuey - 14 votes
9. Darling - 14 votes
11. Ebert - 7 votes
11. LeCras - 7 votes
11. Glass - 7 votes
11. A. Selwood - 7 votes

This again puts Naitanui in our top 5 players this year (and apparently by quite a bit as well).

I'd probably have Hooker ahead of Fletch TBH.
Definitely not Hille.
And Monfries sneaking in just ahead of Howlett, but that's line-ball. Has had a good 6 weeks or so.
