Yeah don't get me wrong I rate him, he's been sensational this year. Does a few very special things on the field that make you stand up and take notice. But he's not top 10 yet, he's still making a few errors with his disposal and realistically isn't getting much heat from opposition defensive players..

Seriously mate I am a dees fan and Frawley would be a long way from that list. Missed round 1 and then took a month or so to capture his best form.

The top 5 demons so far this year for mine have been:
1 - Moloney
2 - Sylvia
3 - Trengove
4 - Martin
5 - Jones/Rivers/Jamar

I've watched every Melbourne game this year and he hasn't smashed his opponent every week at all. PS injury obviously a big reason for that but don't pretend he is still playing like he was last year. Has shown signs over the last 5 weeks though.

As Surkin said Rivers is much closer to the list than Frawley, along with those other names.

ok,, fair enough and i should not have burst in your thread like that

I do like your work.

I think Frawley wikll be there at seasons end though, srtating this week when he beats Riewoldt.

Coaches votes disagree

Yeah the coaches award has him in the top 10 which is a great achievement for a second year player, but also there's a couple of others in there like O'Keefe and Boyd... I doubt many would be putting their names up there for the top 10 this season.

Vehemently :)p) disagree.

Is Top 10 in basically every media voting award.
Would be leading their B&F in a Top 8 team.
Lifting the team when Pav's going AWOL.

PS - Boyd is close another bloke you could put borderline 10.

Fair enough, though I would like to mention though that the Coaches award doesn't have Pendlebury in the top 10 but some are putting him up as #1. As for Fyfe & Freo I would have had Mundy ahead of him pre injury.
Boyd is not borderline top 10, I would have Boyd somewhere in the 30-40 range. He is not having that great of a year and many Bulldogs fans would agree with that.

Maybe I'm clinging onto early season form a little too much.

Nevertheless, there have been some real standout performers that (IMO) have laid it out there week in, week out irrespective of their sides performance.

The only Dog Borderline top 10 is Griffen

Boyd would be 20-40 imo

Yeah, agreed. Griffen would be around abouts the 15-20 range for me

I would put Griff in the 12-18 range. He has been great, but there are guys that have been obviously better, so he is hard to place. Boyd's year has been a bit overrated. He gets the ball a lot, but uses it absolutely horribly.

Some thoughts from last nights game.

Haw v Ess:

Mitchell - certainly got lots of it but I would've preferred he had, say, a dozen less disposals and not as many turn-overs. 38 touches but probably not in the best three players on the ground. Almost thought his opponent Hocking had a better game and he only had it 22 times.

Gibson - smashed Hurley. Completely. Great game though helped by the dominance of Hawthorn in the middle.

Watson - no impact on the game when he was on then sat out the second half. Hope he doesn't have to spend any more time on the sidelines. Must start sliding significantly now.

Some thoughts from games this afternoon.

GC v WB:

Griffen - amazing! 28 touches, three goals and a heap of influence. BOG for mind. Should be considered for top 10.

Boyd - Not far behind Griffen. Had it eleven times more but was more of a link man rather than the more creative Griffen.

Murphy - was consistent but never really an influence in the game.

Ablett - was in the top ten on the ground, just. Average game from him. Thought Rischitelli was GC's best with Lynch, Swallow and Bock also better than Ablett.

Rich v Melb:

Moloney - typical Moloney. Either BOG or nowhere to be seen. Today was close to BOG.

Deledio - intruiging match-up with Trengove. Won it with 26 touches to his opponent's 13, although Trengove did kick 3 goals (not sure if all on Deledio). Should stay thereabouts on this effort.

Cotchin - fantastic effort by McKenzie to restrict Cotchin's impact.

Martin - beaten by Scully . That will make for some interesting forum discussion.

Only seen Melbourne v Richmond so far.

Hopefully Watts is dominating lists for years to come.

Sounds like Watson out of the top 10 now.

If Watts does start dominating it will be egg on a lot of posters faces. Typical for people to write players (particularly those who go top 3) off. Swallow has had a promising first year (though probably not up to expectations). He was great today though.

Disappointing that Watson still looks underdone. Got a feeling of "what could've been". I feel like there are only three real chances for the Brownlow now: Murphy, Judd & Pendlebury. Although Griffen may surprise. A Judd/Griffen would be awesome as they are my two favourite players.

Dogs form will hurt Griffen. At first I didn't think either had chance but a few others have pointed out that Boyd would have a few BOG's from their wins, so Boyd is the better chance for the Dogs imo.

Murphy/Pendlebury tie would be good. Judd for the triple treat would be amusing though. BF meltdown.

yoiu might wanna put Frawley , Scully and Trengove in your top 50 and take out some of those Richmond hacks.
Trengove is close. Frawley's early season form has cost him but he is looking better over the past 8ish weeks. Scully no chance, has missed too many games.

Moloney, Sylvia and Trengove are the only players I'd consider from Melbourne for the actual top 50. Guys like Rivers, Watts, Martin etc. having good seasons as well.

I would take Cotchin and Martin ahead of your entire list, piss off you dumb flog.

Also Griffen bog again, if he didnt play GC would have beaten us by alot. No other bulldog deserves to be in there, damn boyd's turnovers shit me to tears.
