Boyd is a hard one. Part of me thinks Murphy and Morris have been better but he just keeps racking up the numbers.

They have been particualrly Morris, Griff, Morris and Murphy are fighting out B&F and are also the only 3 that would be a chance for AA squad at this stage, Boyd will always rack up numbers he had 24 on weekend in what was the worst game I have seen him play in about 5 years as nearly every kick went straight to opposition.

I wouldn't have Mitchell above Swallow, the other three I can bump ahead of him. As I said in the AA thread, I'm probably basing too much on today's performance.
Scott Thompson rightfully pushing the upper echelon.

His form has been unquestionable. Another good edition!

Bit of an indictment on Essendon.

Would you have Boyd top 50?

looking at the last few names and the unluckies he is probably there but I would have him around the mid 40's somewhere, he is still having his good games, his bad games have been quite bad rather than average like in the last few years.

Round 11:

Put this together in a couple of minutes just so there is something to post. I'll be busy up until the end of the financial year so if I don't post it now, I'll forget. So it's rough.

Happy with the players up to Riewoldt (might have him too low on the list but he's hard to mark this year). Last 6 spots are the tough ones. Might be too harsh on Pavlich. A few other hard players to mark, Swan, Boyd, Johnson etc.

Need help with the order, tried to get more defenders higher up the list.

Can't really fault the list. Jude Bolton is the only who jumps out at me as an oddity but, having not seen many Sydney games this year, I cannot comment on the legitimacy of his spot.

You're doing well. Good to see Swallow diving.

That's me worrying whether I'm trying to be too neutral.

Nearly every media AA team has Bolton in it. Realistically I don't think should be (bench at the absolute best but I'd probably limit him to just squad material). Happy to bump him down, similar to Boyd.

Mundy, Griffen, Mitchell etc. can all be ahead of him without much argument.

I haven't been watching much Carlton football, but I thought Judd would be in the top 5 as-well as (on current form) Thomas. I don't rate Murphy or Watson as high as they are. Still very good list however, always like it overall.

Keep up the good work.
Murphy has practically been our best player apart from the game where Judd stars (where Murphy's been just behind him)... however Judd has had off games... Murphy hasn't...

Murphy has been incredibly consistent... he'll win our bnf, but Judd might rob him of a Brownlow (not saying Judd will win it)

Without a shadow of a doubt Bolton is in AA form this year and can justifiably rank higher...

I know I am bias, but I do have an issue with Scotland being rank below alot of players mention...

I have Scotland behind Murphy at Carlton this year. He has been in absolutely immense every game. Seeing players like Wells, Boyd, Cotchin, Goodes etc above him when they have all had poor game more than once... and yet rate higher is wrong... but hey, most of your lists are better than 99% of others out there,

That's true but Scotland has probably only had one or two standouts games. Those others have at least 3-4.

So it sort of balances out but I'll bump him up anyway because consistency is important.

Obvious bias here, but Pendlebury's disposal is so much more creative than Murphy's and their stats are almost identical.

Yes I agree Pendlebury's disposal is more creative than Bob Murphy's, their stats are no where near identical...

If you're going to come in here and spout biased rubbish, at least know what the conversation is about.

Oh and btw, currently Marc Murphy is playing better than Pendles. /Fin

Very surprised Cotchin isn't higher on that list considering he is dominating most midfield stat's for the year so far and has been kicking goals.

Oh my. Griffen before Bartel? Are you serious? I also think that Scarlett should be in the top 10 somewhere. Probably our best back of all time.

And I don't get how you could put Stevie J before Chappy. I know that 7 goals is a good achievement by Johnson, but what of it. It's CHAPMAN. Wake up.

If you want more defenders in there, I think that Harry Taylor, Corey Enright or Tom Lonergan deserve a spot.

Just speaking for Geelong here though.

Haha, is this your 5th account now muttweed?

Disagree on all apart from the Johnson/Chapman point. Probably do have Johnson too high. Big Nasty was rating him before the GC game and I value his opinion so I bumped him up accordingly. Might be too much though.

Haven't really looked at stats. For games I miss I go off match reports, other posters on this site.

I'll move him up though. I'll be changing the list a lot more based on others opinions this year, so I'll fix the list up tonight based on the last page of posts. Agree with most of the changes recommended.

Johnson deserves to ahead of Chapman. His production has been higher. Johnson is pretty much playing the same role Chapman played for us last year. Chapman was great for his first four weeks but has trailed off in the past month.

My order for Geelong players would be:

Selwood
Kelly
Scarlett
Bartel
Johnson
Corey
Ottens
Chapman

Why would you ignore the first part of the quote when it showed your comment was out of place?

As for stats, they never tell the whole story. How about you start watching more games then just those involving Collingwood. Marc Murphy is killing it, most circles in the AFL admit this, why can't you? That said, can't wait til Jobe comes back in this week, kills it and takes his #1 spot back. :D

What do you mean by "5th account"? I am actually a Cats supporter, unlike you. I think I know my team better than a Sydney supporter.

No rudeness intended in that comment though. Instead of starting an argument, I'll just give credit where it's due. Your list is probably the most accurate and unbiased I've seen and I definitely couldn't do better. I'd probably lean towards the Cats players more, being the biased supporter I am. What can I say, well done :thumbsu:

Obviously I was referring to Marc Murphy not Robert, so I apologise for incorrectly choosing to quote a post instead of just stating it.

I do watch all games and agree Marc Murphy is having a great year. I still believe Pendlebury's more creative ball use and greater efficiency puts him ahead. Brad Scott, Mark Maclure, Jason Dunstall and David King are a few pundits who have stated this season they believe he is the best player in the competition. I'm sure there would also be many who place Murphy ahead. Just nice to see not just Collingwood supporters thinking this way.

Ottens is probably our most important player. I think that Corey should be ahead of Johnson.
