Why does Djokoivic play Federer in the Semi? Every other major, 1v4 and 2v3 ?

Seems unfair that finally Djokovic is now No 1, he still has to take on both Nadal (most likely) and Federer to claim the title.

From what I know about the draw (which is little) they just pick those 4 (amongst others) at random? Although I find that hard to believe considering 11 of the past 13 or whatever it is, have been the same.

I just don't think the organisers have the guts nor want to put Nadal and Federer on the same side.

We'll see though. As you say, this is only the first slam Djoker has been number 1.

2 interesting matches tonight and I give Isner a good shot at getting up as long as he serves well (which he has this tournament). Roddick-Nadal could also produce an upset. I'm liking Fed for the tournament more and more after watching his last 2 matches. Playing very well.

Its not like I myself am playing Samantha Stosur myself or anything

I have bad eyesight, and have a shit backhand

But Kerber doesnt and shes playing at the top level

Anyone can beat anyone at the top level on their day

Especially in womens tennis, and Stosur is a serial offender when it comes to dropping matches she should win easily.

Good to see USTA copping it from all and sundry this tournament, their priorities are completely upside down. Stosur Kerber SF is on Grandstand, surely they could've put the match on third in the day session? Cannot believe this is a GS, it is a farce.

Have stosur or kerber played on aa this tournament? If not, its a joke that one of them will play there for the first time in the final. The women's semi finals should have been during the day to give all players more than 24 hours recovery between the sf and final. This years tournament has confirmed for me the US open as 4th preferred grand slam.

Wimbledon/Aus Open >>>>>>>>>>> Roland Garros/US Open

Aus open is far and away the best in terms of viewing access to all matches. All men's and women's QFs and onwards played on RLA, including night sessions. Compare this to Wimbledon which has no night sessions and has a stupid rest day, and then plays all R16 matches on the Monday, and plays men's and women's QFs simulaneously on two courts.

It's a disgrace that both the women's SF aren't on Ashe, just pathetic. There is no reason for it, and fancy Stosur not playing ONE match on Ashe all tournament, so if she does win it'll be her first appearance there all tournament. At the AO, all matches from the QF's onwards, for both men and women, are played on RLA.

This tournament is pathetic.

Good to see that everyone is giving the USTA crap for this schedule. It has happened in the last couple of years as well but this is just insulting for Kerber and Stosur. There has been so much time to play the match on Ashe, whether they had a friday night session and can still easily do it after the men's semis, it's just so f***ing ordinary. And if they are worried about rain, just have the Serena/Caro match scheduled first and Kerber/Stosur 2nd and move the match if it rains.

As for the men's quarters. Murray again proving why he won't win a slam, getting too passive and was lucky to take that 3rd set, would of been awesome to see Isner take one of those breakpoints late in the 4th. And Nadal was great, would love to know how on earth Ferrer lost to Roddick, I almost believe Ferrer lost to lose me money.... Roddick lucky to make the quarters.

god i hate the time zone difference for this slam, thinking of pulling an all nighter.

*the worst*

Wimbledon is the best time zone because its on at night in Australia when its not the work day anymore, and Wimbledon seldom runs into the night

In England, the Australian (on in the middle of the night, the night sessions run first thing into the morning) and U.S. Open are in horrible time zones , except the day sessions for the U.S. Open

In America, Wimbledon finishes first thing in the morning (a very strange experience)... and the Australian Open (day session commences at 11pm - 2 am at night) and the night sessions finish at strange times in America

Don't know what's worse...Nole being 2-0 down playing like a rank outsider or listen the fox sport commentary team of Mr and Mrs Federa

Nole needs to stop paying Federa too much respect and give up the mr nice guy routine on court....get aggressive, get in his face & he gets a chance to ramm a couple of balls at him during a rally take it - if the pathetic excuse of a crowd that is the US Open Goes ape over it (come on, how hard is it to shut your gob between points FFS) well so be it

Unbelievable win by Djokovic. That return on Federer's first match point was amazing. Completely destroyed Roger mentally on one shot. What a gamble!
