Wonderful effort from Djokovic. Not the result I wanted to see, but Novak's level of play from that ridiculous winner on match point onwards was simply incredible. He isnt losing this tournament.

Good opening set for Sam, although she only got the 1 break of serve and I think that Kerber is doing reasonably well. The serve that is really helping Sam is the serve to the tee on the deuce court. Kerber has struggled to get that particular shot back into play.
Sam's topspin backhand is not quite on yet today in this match, but hopefully she keeps positive and go for her shots. Would like an early break of serve.

Nadal takes the first set 6-4.
 
Stosur down a break and 3-1 in the 2nd set. Just getting worried a bit at the moment. Sam has not looked like breaking her since she got the first break in the opening set. Letting Kerber dictate play a little bit.

And there is the set 6-2 to Kerber. Very bad to let Kerber break in the last game and Kerber will now be serving first in the final set. Not looking good, Kerber in control of the match at the moment.

Cannot believe Federer did not win that match. Shattered. That is a choke if ever I've seen one. For such a champion player he has really turned into a choker late in his career.

Sam going into the third. Should win this match, but who knows??
 
Sam gets going quickly in the 3rd set and takes the double break, up 3-0. And with the Essendon game today I have already got too much nervous energy.

Kerber has fallen in a hole in this set, Sam up 5-0. I want Sam to win this service game, give her nothing.
 
Sam NEEDS to win this service game. Kerber does not seem the kind of player to hand the victory to her opponent. Sam needs to win this game and be positive and go for her shots.

Getting very nervous again.

Far out so nervous in that last game, the usual Stosur game when it got close to the end and she needed to close it out.

The best thing now is that she is the underdog in the final, which will help quite a bit I think.

Serena is the heavy favourite against Wozniacki in the semi final, so you would expect a Williams-Stosur final. But this tournament has provided Sam plenty of favours the way the draw has opened up, so maybe Wozniacki will get up and Sam would be a big shot at winning the title.
 
so murray and nadal still on court, night session was scheduled to start an hour ago and the final is at 4 in the arvo. Even if the woz serena match is short, its still quite a short turn around. Sam needs any advantage she can get.

FTA TV can go F off if they think they can redeem themselves with top echelon coverage by showing the token singular match involving the Australian interest

Absolutely no complaints about the Foxtel coverage here, FTA tv = you've sold your soul and you still want to make things complicated by saying keep sport free?

If anyone saw Fed's presser they would see just how much of a sore loser he is. Novak could of done the finger wagging like Fed did at the French but he didn't gloat in his face which showed class.

Now Novak needs to avenge his loss last year by destroying the moonballer yet again.
