I really think Nadal was able to lift his game slightly and Djokovic as you would expect couldn't sustain that 2nd set play and in the end it was mainly about who served first and put the extra pressure on in the set.
However that is probably taking away too much from Djokovic who played better in the big points.

I wonder if Nadal will play more hardcourt tourneys this year to try and regain #1 before the US.

Djokovic was just too good. I give him his credit now for beating Nadal in a major, especially a major final. Hopefully Nadal steps his game up so that this rivalry isn't as one-sided as the previous biggest rivalry in tennis.

Djokovic could've easily beaten Nadal in the FO final? I dunno about easily. I'd say that match-up would be a hell of a lot closer than this wimbledon final.

Djokovic would have to be the favourite going into the USO now to claim his first title there, so long as his form doesn't significantly dip over the next couple of months.

Very average game of tennis.
Nadal wasnt at his best Djokovic played a few exceptional points and in the end took advantage of the fact nadal was off today which is not easy to do as a champions like him sometimes find a way to win when they arent playing great. So he should be applauded for that.

Pfft, Federer is losing all his rivalries now. The only thing that had Nadal ahead in that rivalry was Federer's decline and clay courts, on which 14 of their 25 meetings have been played.

The most underwhelming commentary of a Wimbledon final I have heard. They added absolutely nothing to the broadcast, in fact they made it seem like a social Sunday hit of tennis. Absolute disgrace, wish we had McEnroe instead.

It's a nice reprieve from Sandy Robert and MacAvaney's gushing commentary. I didn't mind it at all. Jim Courier or McEnroe would've made it better though.

Lets not forget that he seriously challenged Djokovic. Won the 2nd set, led the 3rd 3-1 and had a chance for a double break. He then was at 5-5 in the 4th and was a few points away from taking a lead. He had Djokovic rattled to the extent we haven't seen this year. I hope Bernie takes a ton of confidence from the match and even more after seeing what happened after their match. He can match it with the very best, at 18. Keep working hard mate because you could be anything.

Variety is key to beating Djokovic and Nadal does not have that in his game. Fed does which is why he will remain a danger to him and its why Baghdatis and Tomic did so well against him.
