Spud Number one bears his head. Anyone who builds near a flood plain is an imbecile, just like you. Hows the job at Centrelink or have you thrown that in to dig holes?

Some people less fortunate than thy great self can't afford other options. Would love to see you tell those Australians face to face that they are imbeciles.

PS Spanker - Integrity links directly to the written word - When you returned [after writing that was it - I'm gone etc ... Indeed you should have just Nick-ed off] you lost most of it but to call those unfortunate people in Victoria/Queensland imbeciles at this time shows a distinct lack of class. I'll let other big footy posters decide if I am out of line here!

BS, how do the water levels look from your 3 level mansion down on the flood plains?.

Noticed a couple of cars dumped in the 'puddles' over christmas.

I think you need to start a vigilante group or put up some gates to keep the 'riff raff' out, but please ensure the key is kept in the deadlock so the residents can get out in case the 'puddle' become a tsunami.

cheers

Wouldn't want you in the trenches with me Brian no matter how big your business is and how much money you have. Calling fellow Australians who have lost family members and every possession they own imbeciles is not on. Where is the moderator when needed? What's the point of denigrating Centerlink and labourers also?

I personally dont think the QLD floods come anywhere near the tragedy that we all experienced on that terrible, terrible summers day two years ago. Its nice that the nation is rallying behind the QLD people but a bit of house insurance and they will all be fine. If they dont have insurance well they are just plain stupid.
173 people died on Black Saturday, lets not let this forum sink to new depths.

And whilst Im at it, it's becoming very irritating that some spuds on here think I have nothing better to do with my time than invent a truckload of usernames and sit here baiting people and posting on this and any other boards. They also seem to think its humerous that they know who I am but I dont know who they are, all that that tells me is that they are piss weak individuals hiding behind usernames and taking potshots at other people. At least if I have a crack at someone they know where to find me.

I run a very large business, have a family and use this website as an outlet for a bit of fun, nothing more, so if something is not written by BrianSpeaking or Bob Down then it isn't me, so I would appreciate that the bullsh it linking me with any controversial usernames or posts is left alone.
End of rant!!!
Have a good one.

Empathy: The capacity to know emotionally what another is experiencing from within the frame of reference of that other person, the capacity to sample the feelings of another or to put one's self in another's shoes.

Empathy: Spontaneously and naturally tuning into the other person's thoughts and feelings, whatever these might be [...]There are two major elements to empathy. The first is the cognitive component: Understanding the others feelings and the ability to take their perspective [...] the second element to empathy is the affective component. This is an observer's appropriate emotional response to another person's emotional state.

I wouldn't take Bs's Bs too seriously...he is an excellent angler, up there with Rex Hunt and Andrew Ettinghousen

Please....I was referring to loss of lives (173) to loss of property and material possessions, you can replace possessions but not 173 lives that were lost on Black Saturday.
I also maintain that if you haven't got house insurance then you are a dill, go ahead and argue the point, but you need to protect your assets.

Being an ex-VAFA player now living and playing footy in Rockhampton, and being in the recent Grafton floods and missing the Toowoomba wash by luck alone, comments that BS make clearly shows he is out of touch with reality and I feel slightly sorry/embarrassed for him. Comments like that will catch up with him. Sure we're all sick of the TV channels covering non-stop but the fact is some people have lost everything (does insurance replace memories?). Sure some knew they were buying in flood zones, but that's all they can afford or the risk they take. Show a bit of humility and compassion. And let's not forget just about every sports ground in flood-prone areas are on low-lying areas. This means every sports club has been gutted with water and left with filthy mud.

And finally - apart from Brisbane, why are there rural towns built on rivers? Rivers support agriculture production. Every region has a town in which supports farmers keep producing products and the farmers support businesses that keep them going. Water is needed. The more water the better. The more water - the higher the production. This is why it has been natural that towns are built on rivers. So BS if you wish to no longer hear about people being flooded on flood plains (some of the most fertile and productive land) then we'll pack them all up. But you might not be able to eat for a while. Because where does your food come from? Safeway... And where does Safeway get their food from? Have a think about it. Maybe we might bump into each other at the Australia Club sometime in the near future.

Read the above post combaning, what people have been through is tragic, to suggest anything less, which by the way I have not, would be outrageous and un Australian.

Is any other people prepared to put a ladder for 2011 ?

I will go with ...

Old Xavs
Uni Blues
De La Salle
Collegians

St.Bedes/Mentone Tigers
Old Carey
Old Haileybury
Old Trinity
Old Scotch
Old Melburnians

Sloth out :)

RF Sloth we should really wait until clearances open and we have practice match form to go. Attempting this in January really increases the degree of difficulty but I’ll have a crack anyway. Heart says the D’s but the head says Uni Blues and Xavs will be very hard to beat. Is Fergus Watts playing for the Blues?

De La
Uni Blues
Xavs
SBMT
Carey
Collegians
Scotch
OM’s
Haileybury
OT’s

Should be an interesting year

SBMT have gained nearly all the guys they lost last year plus a few more which will put them back near the top of the tree. Me thinks OC, UB & Collegians will battle for the last spot in the 4.

Also heard a rumor that OH are pulling out all $tops again to have another tilt, just a rumor but a pretty reasonable source. They wouldnt be that silly would they

What a load of rubbish, another poster of the vintage of VAFA eye.
You need to get over the fact that St Bede's better students come to Haileybury at around year 10 because they know that your education standards are worse than Parkdale High Schools.

Now, if I can stay on the topic of talking footy, we at OH have picked up a few, as have all clubs, have lost a couple but are finally getting a lot of the school kids coming down to the club. We are firstly looking to avoid relegation and then anything else is a bonus. If thats finals great, much like you guys have in the past, everyone knows you have thrown dollars around as recently as last season. At least our club is a real club, unlike your merge with Mentone, if it wasnt for them you would still be playing on that heap out near the shit farm, which would be appropriate looking at your post.

I think the top 4 will be similar to last year with Carey pushing, and relegation will be between OM's and OT.

That ground out at Bangholme? Possibly the worst ground i've ever played on!!

Playing at their school was worse with the concrete seating jutting onto the ground.

At Bangholme, the only thing you were likely to slip onto was cow dung!

...or watch Shane "Spud" Pidoto scare the living suitcase out of the Beasleys!!

The God is back for another season of quality football

UB - Just a feeling
DLS - Is the window closing
OX - Nuff said
SBMT - Need to bounce back or 2012 could be in "B" section
Coll - Slight fall but will win more than they lose
OC - Watched a few games last year and liked what they offered
OH - $$$$
OM - Will only beat those below them
OS - Need a season or 2 in "B"
OT - See ya

OTP are you running a tipping comp again this year????

Should Sholly and the vafa boys try and orginise a flood relief game against the efl like the bushfire game of a couple of yrs ago, which was a cracka

Great to see the VAFA umps organising a group to provide some practical help to those adversely affected by the floods in Queensland. :thumbsu:

O.T.P giving a hand with some fencing will be a sight to see.
