Dont think the OMs will improve much this year. One big signing isnt going to make much of a difference.

Think they will come back to reality come round one against Xavs

Got to agree with Evo - one signing (as good as he is) won't be enough to help them in a significant way unless there are others of quality. Does anyone know where they are at?

Are there any other quality recruits to be announced by clubs? Seems very quiet given we're into March. At this stage it seems to be Petersen, Sautner and Taylor as the only big new names coming to A Grade - is that it?

I think Hunter (Former Melbourne + VFL player) and Smith (Coburg VFL) can be considered big names for the Xavs.

Both of quality to add to the already talented Old Xaverian side.

Carey De La Xavs Blues to round out the top 4 with Collegians being the big slider this yr for mine. Lots of talk about OM's on here - is taylor their only recruit (if it is in fact true)? if so they will finish again in the bottom Half. Looking forward to watching Pedersen light it up out at Buleen.

Heard some bloke has signed with OMs. Dean Handley?? Never heard of him. Apparently he won a comp B&F in the Diamond Valley league a couple of years ago. Originally from Brisbane...

Gun full back.

Wow, lots of activity today boys (and girls, and Mr Richard Shlapp, or was it Slurp?)
Congrats to Carey for signing both Peterson and Pederson. They both sound good.
OM's signed Taylor, good pick up. He is a massive unit. Just checked their website (thanks for the tip Tobias). It has a few other handy types on it too (http://www.omfc.com.au/wp-content/uploads/file/2011 RECRUITS.pdf). They may just be on the up, but last year were ordinary, so needed some talent. (I had a good look but couldn't find mention of Mike Berry - was that the best gag you could muster Kaos?).
Otherwise, no decent announcements, and 100 rumours from Mal with a strike rate of 1% At the end of the day, its all academic, Xavs are undoubtedly the yardstick. Pencil them in now (they have at HQ).

gee they have been busy - Old Scotch boy is a very good player. says first wave. does this mean they are expecting more? no mention of Taylor.

Another big signing to be announced by OM's very soon.....they will be really strong - at least on paper. This will be the strongest A Grade comp in years. Top sides not getting any worse, lots of others on the march - OM's, O Carey etc

I'll go back and check the web. think that was from a month or so ago. so there could even have been others. they have been busy. Maybe denis landrigan is having a real crack at building a team to take on his alma mater??

yep, confirmed, just checked the OM's website - that "first wave" list (w***ers by the way) was back on Feb 11th.
Any truth in the rumour Andrew Lovett is talking about playing Ammos? Where would he go? Haylbrie? Can't believe this came from another source, not Mal the Mouth.

Are the "redlegs" at the Junction Oval again? Love to see an updated list of their recruits, in fact I would like to see all clubs recruiting lists
 
MMM I am not sure why would they put up a list with some info on it?

Xav’s coach before round 1 - Looks through Ammo Record, looks at the OM’s player list
Finds Nash, checks his number knows he likes to run and is well skilled
Finds Casey-Leigh checks his number knows he will probably start back
Finds Penn checks his number tells whoever has him to watch his left foot

Not sure revealing information like that will have a huge impact on the result of the game youlike!!!
 
No I am not saying it would but I can't see what is gained by publishing the details.

If they have picked up a few blokes that can play (which it looks like they have) you would like your opposition to find out about it the hard way would you not?

I guess thats one way of looking at it "youlike". If it were my club and I was a paid up member or sponsor, I suppose I'd also be happy to get news that gave me some optimism ahead of the season. Especially following on from a year when they lost games to Old Brighton and Old Trinity? Professionalism vs Old fashioned cloak and dagger?? On the basis of your logic maybe they should also have announced signing Simon Taylor and suggested he will be brilliant as a small forward? Anyway, Xavs coach will be too busy looking over his shoulder.
 
All teams have their forward scouts these days, and th e Geebung Polo Club network lets everyone know who's who in the zoo.
