Another big signing to be announced by OM's very soon.....they will be really strong - at least on paper. This will be the strongest A Grade comp in years. Top sides not getting any worse, lots of others on the march - OM's, O Carey etc

I am very kenn to know who this is?!!

Ammo Footy you are usually very accurate with any pending announcements!

I disagree about the comp being stronger, warehousing washed up AFL players who weren't good enough at the elite level is a joke. They come to an Ammo club under the guise of committment for life and are handed a job someone else would have to work 10 years for.
They then pi$$ off to the bush after one year and are never seen again, job in tow.

any practice matches on this weekend?

or due to the long weekend are teams having a rest?

wouldn't mind having a look at Carey. reckon I might spend a fair bit of time watching them this yr. particularly if pedersen is lighting it up

Alinta, what's Pederson lighting up? is this our first drug scandal for the year?

Hey pump and dump, sounds like you have been on the end of one too many pumping / dumping? very bitter.

Your a harsh man Rah Rah. Peterson will be a revelation this year because there are good people behind him. Give these guys a chance, if they continue to stuff up then you can bag them.

RR or MfM, any truth to the rumour the OMs will be incorporating the map of Tassie into their playing strip this year?

I know they picked up some quality from the Apple Isle last year (Beck & RU B&F Lewis) and have heard on the grape vine that in addition to Taylor, there are a couple of very big former Taswegian signings to follow...

very keen to know who the players from the under 19 comp last year who are likely to play 1s this year are:
max van de broek, 1 or 2 uni blue players, brendan goss, hesham nidam from xavs, clinch and humphrey from de la
how are they shaping up

Quite amusing Rah rah

Ahh yes, Topakas the cheat, he and a current VAFA board member were the reason OMs were relegated despite not finishing in the bottom 2 yes? Also allowed Marcellin to win the A grade flag the next year when they should have been in B grade, remarkable!

I wonder if the big Hawk showing up will lead to them heading the same way Under similar circumstances next year?????

Topakas was a stinker. He sent OM's to B Grade for the massive breach of rules, yes wait for it....... he didn't declare his earnings from St Kilda Under 19's. And the Red & Black army at Elsternwick HQ jumped all over them. Couldn't put down their bibles to pick up the rule books quick enough. Hopefully they have filled out the Big Hawk's transfer papers with some level of diligence!!

I hope he's a better bloke than the last guy nicknamed Turbo that the OM's had playing for them (Andrew Topakas, mid 90's).

agree on top 2, agree on bottom 2.
3 through 8 is a raffle, although i don't understand any optimism for hailbrie, or the hype on carey.

1. O.XAVS
2. DE LA SALLE
3. Uni Blues
4. Old Melburnians

5. Collegians
6. Old Carey
7. St Bedes
8. Old Haileybury
9. Old Trinity
10. Old Scotch

collegians to slide with an exodus of some senior players; OM's have recruited well and had some players return (i am told) and should improve considerably; unsure about carey although I would like to see them do well Cant wait to watch pederson.

My justifications:

Not many easy games for the top 6 teams.

Old Carey - Have picked up a couple top liners and had a team already on a winning streak. Hard to beat at home. Pederson will be a show stopper!!
Old Melburnians - Have added about 8 senior players to a list that would otherwise struggle. Have rid of a bit of dead wood and all reports are that the coach is better than the last one. Good players will enjoy the Junction oval with plenty of space.
Old Xavs - Always thereabouts. Could finish 1-4 and still be a threat come money time. Have lost a couple according to VAFA clearances. Noonan leaving will hurt.
De La - Have threatened the last couple of years and have some ok depth but have lost a few to the VFL and other leagues as well some going travelling for the year. Can't write off but I think they would be scarred from missed opportunities in the last couple of seasons and are no longer a young side with plenty of upside. New coach will confuse them without an obvious structure. (See final fight scene in The 3 Amigos)
Collegians - Have lost some quality stalwarts along their spine and clubs have now worked out how to counter the Jorgensen 'kick behind the play' trick. Happy to have 'me-me' Sauntner on board until they met him.
Uni Blues - Likely to be the year they could no longer hold on to finals contention after Nicholson has gone and Patterson has finally retired. Gleeson may have to help out again.
Old Haileybury - Have some good guys on board from local leagues and Brett Voss is still the best player in the amateurs. Mid tier depending on how Voss holds up.
Old Scotch - Surely can't do the drop after so many years in A grade. Have rid of over rated Nayna and Passador is stable in his allocated job but now with another club. I wonder what recruiting mistake they will make this year??? Their in-fighting board meetings would be comical.
St Bedes - Small club who enjoyed a dream run over a five or six year period. Their core players are getting old now and past their best. Younger brigade are mediocre at best. Spiritual leader Big Juice has retired. Could be like Old Brighton from 2010.
Old Trinity - How much longer can their champion, Rambo, keep them up for? It will be a sad end to a wonderful career. Old Ts to re-group in B-grade in 2012.

Old Xavs will win it.

The rest is irrelevant. I don't know why or how but they just have the stuff to win when it matters.

Carey, Old Trust Fundiuns, Marceldrugs, De La La La Las, all the rest are each playing for second.

There is no point denying it, your efforts are better spent focussing on your respective clubs and helping them to knock the present leaders off.

Kenny Powers is the man who has the ball and it the man who can throw it faster than f*#k.
