Healy actually made a funny comment today but I can't for the life of me remember what it was.

Anyone know what I'm thinking of?

The only funny comment I remember Healy making was begging (unsuccessfully) for his farewell Gabba test.

Simple Jack = closet Healy sympathiser

Mods, Insta-ban plz.
I take great offence to that sir. I have posted many times how much I think Healy and Slater are probably not deserving of the oxygen society allows them.

I was just so amazed that something actually humorous could come out of his mouth, hence my fascination.

Ian Chappell for me is far and away the worst. All he ever comes up with are:

a) "Witty and clever" comments that aren't witty or clever and just make him sound like an arrogant smart-aleck.

b) the unfunniest "funny stories" I have ever heard...honestly, does anyone give a continental what Doug Walters said on the field during the 1976 tour of wherever?? o_O

Ok kept my promise not to say anything until after the Sydney test due to broadcasting the Ashes on free to air tv. Now I can say something

Richie Benaud – age is catching up with him and retirement beckons, has had a great innings, but like most doesn’t exactly know when to walk away gracefully and his to see his level of performance drop. Still good though.

Bill Lawry – simply the best, witty, insightful and entertaining. Unfortunately the more recently retired seem to show no interest in learning from him.

Ian Chappell – is a divisive figure, as he always has been, I can understand why many dislike him but he really isn’t that bad.

Mark Taylor – I really think this guy could cure insomnia. Does have some interesting things to say if you can stay awake through the monotone voice.

Mark Nicholas – do you actually want to say something or just dribble on about nothing making sure you say nothing controversial and provide nothing of any real use to anyone. Can’t even provide a decent joke.

Michael Slater – Rabbles on about a topic that should’ve been killed off 20 minutes ago. Talks way to much crap and often drags others, particularly Taylor, down to his level. Also has too much of a love for technology and pictures to show something, maybe just because he doesn’t have the capacity to verbally communicate it like Taylor.

Ian Healy – excuse me while I go and find a bucket to throw up in. Quite simply, possibly the worst commentator of any sport on free to air television in this country. I’d say punch him in the face next time you see him, instead prefer the idea of punching him in the larynx as it might damage his voice box and we don’t have to listen to him again.

Brett Lee – whilst offering some potential also has some pitfalls. I will though give him some leeway for this season only. But if he could just manage to put the same effort into his commentary as he did his personal grooming he’d be challenging Bill for the #1 spot as best commentator.

Healy has one redeeming feature, his insights into the art of keeping. Although I suppose they could wheel out Gilly for that.

There are plenty out there who would be better, could even try going back to Rod Marsh. Hopefully when Haddin retires he might turn to commentary, is willing to speak his mind and justify his comments at least.

yep he can honestly say that in his day, he was able to stay in the side and average 25 with the bat for his entire test career.

a strange world indeed

worst moment was when they needed 6 to win healey was an arrogant prick!
oh come on Johnson hit a six goes crazy when he blocks it. hows that teaching kids a lesson then hit the winning runs sensibly at didnt say a word

That bit was just downright embarrassing.

That was Slater who was crying out for Hussey to bring up the winning runs with a 6 ..Healy actually fired back at Slater "well that would be why you got out so much when in the 90's"!
