is there any way to get the radio commentary and the live play roughly in sync? when ever i have tried the radio is always a ball or 2 behind

You need a digital radio, pause it and let it catch up.

Also there is a lord taverners radio, not sure of the details, which makes this easier to acheive

I have Foxtel and agree that the coverage would probably improve, but the Australian summer of cricket being exclusive to pay TV would be terrible for the sport in this country. Simple as that.

Totally agree with this post. Losing the cricket to pay t.v. would ruin the Aussie summer. The best thing about it being on free to air is that everyone can enjoy the game even with shithouse commentary. I'd rather put up with rough commentary than lose cricket to pay t.v.!

i seriously think that these blokes wouldnt have one of the largest fees going around...richie and tony aside, maybe chappeli...the rest really struggle to put words together, slats is ok on sports variety shows but gets all wanky when talking about other codes, likes to appear emotionally involved...w***er

The new generation of commentary team is far too matey, and are so busy being mates that they forget the game is on. Bad news, I think they'll be around for a while, think 5 - 10 years, if not longer.

Oh and i dont care how much people bag out Tony Greig. He and Bill Lawry were the perfect team and i miss them both dearly in the coverage. They called the cricket, and every now and then would have a dig at each other. The current crop seem like they are trying too hard. Healy and Slater are just downright embarrassing.

Radio commentators are there to paint a picture for the listener, therefore they spend more time explaining each delivery. They haven't got the visual aids to keep harping on whether something was out.

TV commentators don't paint the picture so they need to find other things to talk about. Not much point in telling you Hilfenhaus is bowling to Smith because you can see that for yourself.

To be honest, I don't mind the job the Nine commentators so, far more professional than the rabble that call themselves football commentators.
