Really? I find Brayshaw struggles to string together a proper sentence. Tonight we needed "4 balls off the last delivery" and last game boundaries were "like liquid gold". I don't mind slips of the tongue under the pressure of live TV, but he does it so often and never seems to notice.
Also I'd like to thank 9 for that interview with KFC state manager of operations. Was extremely insightful and relevant. And by that I mean, isn't it enough they inflict those ****ing ads with Good Charlotte on us every ad break?

One thing the English have over the 9 boys is the ability tobe subtle, even Beefy!

But beefy, bumble and Nasser wind me up far more than channel 9. Whats more tgey are bloody chippy re Australia, something that the Aussie young brigade aren't

Each to their own. I guess i've been living here too long.

Agree on tms

It's hardly surprising that they are chippy regards Australia. In their shoes, I'd crow like buggery at every English win. Nasser has never really got over the 2003 World Cup win by the Aussies at (can't remember which) Port Elizabeth or East London, let alone Ashes losses.

But he does some great third man work. As does Michael Holding when he's there. In terms of general analysis of the play, most of the Sky crew are simply better to listen to due to their habit of sticking to their job.

JB was at it again with the head-scratching Americanisms...

"The big show has got the juice in the building right now!!!" o_O

Doesn't JB just love using nicknames, especially ones he's just found out ?

BTW we learn't something last night - T20 is too fast a game for Bill Lawry. He was shockiing last night.

I'm actually watching a Bangladesh Premier League match on Star Cricket now. I'll be honest, commentary is terrible but it doesn't piss me off to the point that I have to mute the TV like I often have to do when I'm watching on Nine. Why? Because the commentators are at least doing their best to try and analyse and explain the action to the viewers at home, and not endlessly dribbling mindless bs and promoting crap just to hear the sound of their own voices. What is really getting on our nerves with nine maybe is not so much the quality of the commentary but the attitude they are presenting it with. You can bear poor commentary I think if you can tell they are at least putting in the effort. With nine what you get is an overall tone of arrogance, basically meaning the commentators think they can treat the audience with contempt by not watching the game, talking garbage, telling in-jokes and just generally making an arse of themselves because, well, they can. This is the major issue for mine.

WTF? Are people seriously comparing Channel 9 to a commentary team with Bumble, David Gower, Athers and Michael Holding?

Sky UK is infinitely better.

I infinitely disagree.

Coverage, yes. Sky is all over it. Commentary, no.

But its like saying a solid shit smells better than a runny one really. Radio ftw

I could not believe it but Heals is actually getting more stupid with each match.

He regularly got players mixed up, stumbled over the trivia question like a gibbering idiot, thought Gayle was the captain of the Windies.....and that was in addition to his usual stupidness......

were some of the 9 commentators on the turps today ?
Taylor - Powell is out.WRONG,it was Gayle
Nicholls [I think] - an LBW appeal against Powell.WRONG,it was Pollard
Clearly all black people look the same.

I think they get on the turps early with the short formats and then it's all downhill from there.

Was anyone watching the pre-game when they showed Faulkner being presented with his cap by Dennis Lillee?

I admit wasn't paying 100% attention (unsurprisingly) but I am pretty sure I heard Mark Taylor call him DJ Lillee.

A particular bugbear of mine is when they use baseball jargon: stepping up to the plate etc. Yesterday
Healy mentioned one "hit over left field". FFS, it's called midwicket!!
I think it was more than reasonable and clearly justified given the circumstances. Maxwell really was playing baseball out there yesterday.

Still hate Healy.

Why do I bother watching the cricket? Commentators that make me want to claw my ears out, pixilated SD video that make me want to claw my eyes out, then to top it off some stupid american "musicstar" that I have never heard of that they put on every single ad break that makes me just want to shoot myself in the face.

Yes, I forgot about that, brilliant. What an incompetent bogan that Tubby Taylor is.
