Pattinson - 21, fifth in the Test Player of the Year.

Warner - 25, seventh (I think) in Test Player of the Year.

Warner wins Young Player of the Year.

Probably, Pattinson is pretty nailed on though if he can stay fit
ineligible. played more than 10 first class games.

patto, maddinson, lynn, coulter-nile and burns all passed 10 games this season. i think lynn may have already been over, not sure. it was really only between pattinson and warner though.

$1.20 maybe a bit short given injury issues for cummins. mcdermott will be eligible, kurtis patterson scored 150 on debut and will probably get more of a chance next season. i can't think of any outside of those three who would win it at this stage, and i haven't even seen KP. just going off his scores.

a few smokies but would all be long odds;
- jason behrendroff
- glenn maxwell
- marcus harris
- tom triffit
- peter hanscomb

All the winners deserved their awards this time around, but you can never make everyone happy.

Clarke spoke really well, too. He's definitely turned a corner in that regard, comes across as a very content and professional captain.

Our future seems to be in good hands with him at the helm and a few really good young players coming through.

A special mention must go to Haddin, who managed to play in all matches in all three forms, except for 5 ODIs and 2 T20s, yet still managed only 7 points over all!

And he is still our first choice test keeper apparently!

Pattoman is already a firm favourite.

Reminds me of McGrath, love a bit of mongrel.

Was it his first match where Patto got warned for bowling three bouncers in a row? And said in the press conference he didn't care?

nothing wrong with a bit of mongrel, especially if you can back it up.

the australian team needs some c***. as i've said elsewhere for anyone here who follows NSW rugby league you'll know what it's like to support a team with no c***.

patto, warner, wade all have a bit of mongrel in them.

You are so right. The thing is when teams are doing well, generally it's fueled with passion, determination and a bit of mongrel. They want the win and to keep winning. It's a good thing. You don't want some wuss to be in your team who just plays because of talent, you want someone who shows ticker. Pattinson, Warner and Siddle show this.
