Federer/Nadal matches are predictable as they come and have only one victor from the outset. People seriously never learn.

Only time they've met in Aus Open was a 5 set classic.

Nah I'm a big Fed fan, and I like Djokovic and Murray.

Not as big a fan of Nadal, obviously I have a lot of respect and admiration for him but don't like his gamestyle, and I reckon someone playing redhot against Nadal is great to watch.

Players like Berdych can't produce tennis like this consistently, if he could then he would've won slams by now. Federer would mop him up in 3.

We've seen Baghdatis, Gonzalez, Tsonga etc make runs in slams but couldn't play at the same level as previous rounds.

As much as i hate to say it. I think whoever wins this match will lose to Fed in straights. Maybe Nadal will lose in 4 though. Cant see them troubling him to be honest.

To be fair to him in the replay he was looking at Rafa and when he looked back Berdych was standing still with his arm raised

Yeah you couldnt call those 2 calls the same, the Berdych one happens regularly amongst players. The Nadal one he took off to try to get to the return and only tried to challenge once the winner had been hit

And after hitting the return, Berdych took 2 or 3 steps trying to get back into the court before realising it was out and then sticking his arm up. Double standards.

This has been one of the top 5 matches of the tournament so far, just wish that Berdych could get a break here and take this to a 5th, but do not think it is going to happen. Tomas just has not done well enough when he has come to net. Agree with someone earlier, I think Fed will beat Nadal in 4 sets on Thursday night. Fed is just in sublime form, has been since the US Open last year. And a Fed/Djoko final would be epic. A lot of close line calls today and 3 of the line umpires out there tonight are also chair umpires who have been chair umpires during other matches in the AO this year..

IS it just me or has Nadal been more pumped in this match tonight than he has been in a long time?

Well done rafa just too good, Berdych basically missed all his small chances in that match. His reflexes arent quick enough to play the net especially against nadal.

Good match, Berdych didn't quite take the chances he had when he was leading even though he did play quite well throughout the match, just finish a few more points off especially at the net. Rafa's play in the 4th was incredibly clean, picked it up a level higher than he has the whole tournament. Played like that in that against Federer, it will be very close.

Oh and good to see Berdych make the effort to shake hands tonight.

Well that was a high quality match, Berdych was pounding them left right and centre and he still couldn't win. Both guys played so well in clutch situations as well which was why the the match went for so long. Definitely one of the best matches this tournament, the quality of the match was worthy of a grand slam final IMO. High quality stuff. Nadal has got the wood over Federer in the past, he always troubles Fed. His high bouncing forehand to Fed's backhand always troubles Federer. Fed looks in amazing form but Nadal is a bad matchup for him. Fed looks amazing so far... but Rafa is a whole different fish. Nadal in 5.

lol, just not going to look at the form or even the result of their last match are we? (yes, I'm well aware that Nadal was no way near his best that day). The matchup is always going to be for Roger but to think has no chance. Get serious.
