If Tomic can win this and a slam in the future he should thank Verdasco in his victory speech for helping him believe he can fight through a match from 2 sets to love down. Not many players would allow Tomic to win from here.
To be fair an experienced player wouldn't have let Verdasco back into the second with 3 set points.
Bruce's role has always been to anchor the coverage. You need to have at least two in the box to play off each other, even if one is only setting up discussion (i.e. Bruce).
