Nienimen has had to quit :( had his stomache tapped & I reckon it's packed in

So out of the blue

Shame for Niemenen, but with the schedule unsurprising really. Good thing I decided to leave early - last two games on Margaret Court were pointless really - first a demolition from Jankovic on Robson and then a retirement.

Just saw the report for Tomic's game on the FSN website and noticed that the roar from the crowd was 115 decibels, the sound of a loud rock concert apparently. Be interesting to have found out the decibels for last years prelim at the end of the Collingwood v Hawks game.

Really pointless when you think about it but I'd love to see this technology implemented more in sport, would be very interesting to see which crowds are the loudest, which sports are the loudest and, for womens tennis, which players grunt the loudest (and dish out warnings/penalties to those who exceed a certain level :p)

Would definitely put a debate to the loudest roar ever heard debates that you have for different sports (ANZAC Day 09 FWIW ;)). :p

Woz going for more winners this summer I've noticed which is good. Relying on just returning the ball won't win her grand slams against more powerful hitters(Williams sisters and others).

6-2 6-1 good to see Rodionova at least get a game each set.

Pretty good day at the Open for the Aussies, saw most of them play:

Dellacqua is looking fitter than she ever probably has been, game getting towards her best but Jovanskovi was awful, just a trainwreck, could not keep the ball in court. I would almost think that everybody in the draw would of beaten ehr today.

Saw Stakhovtsky comeback from 2 match points down, he was pretty lucky in the end. Maryenchko got very tight.

Lol at the Jones/Dolgopolov match, even from 2 sets to love down, Dolgopolov looked like he would win. Those 2 sets of tennis were just so bad from Alex, so many horrible errors, Jones must of thought grand slam tennis is not as hard as first thought. Jones could barely move in those 4th and 5th sets, supposedly he a blister but this shows why he is a challenegr player and Dolgopolov is on tour. Just a joke this went to 5.

Mitchell has potential, saw the first two sets, he was break up in the 2nd, he has very good footwork and anticpation, got a nice serve and once his groundies come together, top 100 potential is there for sure, a couple of years away but he's only 19.

After that didn't get to see much, dodgy AO food made me sick. Saw a bit of Barty, she seemed very nervous.

Great win for Rogowska :thumbsu:

Court 21: 63rd ranked German Philipp Petzschner v 69th ranked Czech Lukas Rosol

Closely matched? Maybe not. Petzschner leads 6-0 5-0.

In 14 previous Grand Slams, Petzschner has only had 11 wins.
