Unless I'm missing something, the basis for that article seems to be that Kerr said the Lions need another KPP, and Jaksch is a KPP. Doesn't seem to indicate that we've spoken to him or expressed an interest in him at all.

I still think we'll go with best available at pick 8, and may consider our team balance needs with our later two picks.
That's still my thoughts, with Grundy the exception.

... and Jaksch is expected to be picked around our pick. I thought the article was fair enough in terms of predicting a possible outcome.

Noticed that Jesse Lonergan is listed at 91kg and 182cm, which is a massive weight to height ratio even for a mature player in the AFL, let alone an 18 year old.
Yep, I was a bit surprised myself by that, maybe because I'm around the same height but 6kg lighter (not to mention 30 years older!).

I find that weight quote of 91kg to be almost unbelievable, unless he is either fat or incredibly muscular.

Isn't Moloney about 182cm and 87kg?

I think that if he can have a good pre season he could at to our depth at least... I also think that he would do better under our program and not Port Adelaide
I would say that the best way to go would be to not draft specifically for depth. You recruit the best talent possible, and those who are less up to scratch than those around them become more depth players than others.

Yeah, I don't get this concept of recruiting for 'depth' unless it's a specific position like a ruck or a key forward. Unless they can potentially improve the starting 22, then you are just adding list cloggers. I'm not wanting to comment on Jacobs per se, just the reasoning behind it.

I also think that he has potential!

The concept follows, if Grundy drops and he is the best available and we draft him, Longer becomes our depth ruck.

Should not have made that statement, a baby boomer reading too much and perhaps not understanding Y gens as your above example of Jaksch.
Some of the comments from those interviews are a bit cringe worthy, but perhaps they are there to sell themselves, like in a job interview, and it may not neccessarily reflect their true character.

Never knew that about Brown. First time I am hearing it? ????
I remember someone stating that back at South Warrnambool he would drink a slab on the Saturday night and then kick a lazy 7 on the Sunday. Pretty sure Browny's always loved the Crownies.

As impressive as Garlett looks on the field I'm not sure the post-Fev/Proud Lions would invest a top 10 pick in him.
