I have your mob taking O'Rourke in my PD but I get the feeling you'll take a KPP with your first pick.

Who do you guys fancy between Jaksch and Plowman? The former has versatility to play at both ends very well and you probably do need a forward more, but Plowman could be the long awaited successor to Justin Leppitsch at centre-half back, and having seen his Countdown Video on the AFL Site, I can definitely see the resemblance in playing style, and I think he's exactly the type of player Brisbane would love to have right now (along with a key forward of course).

Also, I think Membrey will be a big slider. Should definitely be available at your second pick.

From Jaksch and Plowman, I think common consensus has us taking Jaksch, and that'd probably suit what the club is saying more than plow... that said, most on this board (myself included) are of the opinion that the quality at 8 for KPPs isn't terribly much greater than at 24, where we may get one of Shaw, O'Brien, Smith et al... With early picks, the Lions always go best available, and apart from Grundy, who would be redundant, I can't see the club doing anything but best available this year, which would probably be a mid at 8.

(note: when i said "probably suits what the club is saying" - i mean, in our rundown of needs, Kerr identified a long-term KPF, backup ruck (Martin), and mids as our main needs through trade/draft periods. Interestingly, he specifically stated 'Key Fwd', not 'Key Pos')... included because I have a feeling someone will ask me a source. Source is here

Note to your edit: Membrey is a medium fwd. We have loads of them. We need a Brown replacement, not another medium.

I remember Jack Redden come as a shock on this forum when he was called that high, and remember being confused with Jarrad and Jack Redden.

Here was the Burgan's mock draft from 2008;
http://www.afl.com.au/News/AFLBlogs/BlogArticle/tabid/8123/Default.aspx?newsId=70169

Redden at 57, Banfield undrafted, Cornelius at 39 and Rockliff at 71. The only really highly rated player (by that Matt Burgan, who had pretty good contacts) that we took was Rich.

After producing what many recruiters described as one of the greatest TAC Cup matches of all time late last season – he had 35 disposals and took 18 marks – Post has risen up the pecking order.
Damn, and we didn't get him...

I've said it a few times on the forums, but i still remember Redden's profile on the AFL site, it had no photo, and bare basic information, DOB, Name, no photo, the club he played for and his position, had no write up or anything. So he was fairly unknown to most at the time, he was a bolter.

Fairly sure that was the year that Burgan released his phantom draft with Rich to Freo and then the mail came in so strong for Hill that he revised it. First time I'd seen that.

I put myself firmly in the "don't see enough of potential draftees to form an informed opinion" camp.

What I do see is usually from highlight reels and the like.

I'll say this tough......from the interview with Plowman that I saw on the AFL site, he really impressed as a level headed and likeable young bloke....one that would easily pass the No Dickheads test.

Oh yeah....and the highlights package looked really good too.:oops:

Jimmy Toumpas from his interview passes the no dickhead rule and he is a Brisbane supporter. Shame he is going to in the top 3 picks.
