Rumours in Adelaide have Mitch Grigg being firmly in the forced delisting line due to the Tippett debacle in which a contracted player must be left off the Adelaide list to make room for Tippett. Any interest or would clubs turn a blind eye due to the circumstances and let him get reselected by the Crows?

Nick Joyce has been delisted.

All aboard the Stringer bandwagon.

That would leave us with Stringer, Macrae or Mayes to select from. Hmm decisions, decisions. I would be taking a risk and selecting the one who the recruiters think will become the best player if they fulfil their potential but I think our recruiters will go best available.

I'd be very happy with any one of these guys. Quigley's write up on Lonergan has made me comfortable to throw him there too. Hard inside ball winner which you always need and with that athleticism and smarts it's hard to think a strong outside game couldn't be developed. What's his tank like, Quigley? edit: NM, I just need to learn to read everything before posting.

Whats your dream first choice pick to suit your club?
During the year the boys asked dayle garlett what team would you like to play afl for. he replied,
well i would preffer and rather not play footy or live in queensland, adelaide ,sydney with the new teams and the other teams like
the cats, tigers, freo, north melb, blues he cant see himself playing for them as not a fan of them growing up so hopefully not them teams will be sweet. but the the rest is ok, so guys would you rather a player like vlastuin, jasksch, kennedy, clurey, stringer ect that are keen to play with pride as there is so many great kids around ?

I saw on Emma Quayle's twitter that she thinks GWS are a big chance to select Whitfield, Plowman and Menzel with their top 3. O'rourke and Toumpas are in the mix as well. Rob Kerr did say the AFL recruiters seem to have very different opinions on players compared to each other and they all seem to rate certain players higher and lower a lot more then the general public and AFL experts this year compared to other years. Quayle also said that GWS are tossing up on whether to take Plowman at 3 or take the risk that he will slide to pick 12. Stringer a chance to Bulldogs, Carlton and no further then Geelong either apparently.

Some observations if I may. Looking at this photograph, is that Tim Membrey standing next to Jake Stringer? If so Membrey looks as though he edges Stringer out in the height department. Just interesting given that Stringer is "KPF height" at 191cm while Membrey is a "medium forward" at 189cm. I still believe that some people give a players listed height, too much weight when it comes to drafting.

Also, Ollie Wines has a big head.

I am sorry to come across as rude but that was hard to understand. Are you saying that Dayle Garlett does not want to play for the Lions, Suns, GWS, Swans, Port, Crows, Cats, Tigers, Freo, North, and Blues? I thought the only thing Dayle Garlett said in regards to what teams he wanted to play for was that he didn't care but he would prefer to move out of WA?

No matter how many threads this post appears on, it never gets any more comprehensible.

Herald Sun's Find out who your club is predicted to take in Thursday's national AFL draft

8. Brisbane Lions
SAM MAYES

HEIGHT: 187cm
CLUB: North Adelaide (SA)
Lions need to add to their forward line. Mayes is clean overhead, courageous and runs hard into the midfield. Link-up specialist.

24. Brisbane Lions
MASON WOOD

HEIGHT: 192cm
CLUB: Geelong Falcons
Agile key forward has come from the clouds this year, leading the Falcons goalkicking. Needs to put on size but has a huge tank.

No Mason Shaw in the top 30 fwiw. Ben Kennedy at pick 30.

What's the knock on lonergan? You'd think someone of his elite athletic attributes, ball-winning ability, bullet handpasses, footy smarts and low go home factor he'd be knocking on top 5 but I don't watch any of the youngsters so just wondering why he's predicted to go at the tail end of the first round.

With ruck/forwards being so valuable there's something about Mason Shaw that isn't adding up. Are there question marks on him being soft or lacking competitiveness?

also kennedy dropping to port adelaide at 30, (obviously can't beileve all the "inside info" people have on big footy) but someone said on his page that he interviewed poorly with all the clubs and was only interested in playing for an adelaide team, this could be the reason they rate him this low then

The main knock on most Tassie/Qld kids: Div 2. Worse competition, so can exaggerate how good a player looks. Teams pick them with worse picks because of that risk.
