If Karny's homesickness is true, do y'all think that will make the Club even more biased against Vic Metro players? I know I mentally discount them as draft options.
Not at all.

We seem to have a better strike rate with QLD, Vic Country and WA players, for sure. I hadn't noticed it myself, but I think I also mentally grey out Vic Metro players from my list. Hopefully Billy helps to buck the trend.

With maloney all but locked in I am would really like the club to take the punt on m shaw at pick 8, the depth of key fowards in this draft isnt to crash hot...
and with pick 23 and 30 we could still nab a very quality mid vlaustin, hrovat, aitken, towers,
Even if best available is Brodie Grundy?IMO when it comes to first round draft picks, nine times out of ten you go best available. The other time you think about picking for needs, but still go best available.
Appologies, just noticed this mentioned in the appropriate thread. My badNot sure of the validity, but SOS has said on TWR that they wouldn't be opposed to trading pick 2, for the right deal of course. Toumpas dream still alive for me anyway
Pick 8 Im starting to warm to big Mason Shaw and pick we should make it a priority to get either Josh Simpson of Mathew Haynes and pick 30 we go for Hrovat, Lonergan etc. If we do that we will get closer to our recruiting goals whatever they areWith maloney all but locked in I am would really like the club to take the punt on m shaw at pick 8, the depth of key fowards in this draft isnt to crash hot...

Please dont make me upset.I hear that with Pick 8 we are considering taking a surprise pick-up who will really add to our leadership group ...

1. I can. 12 & 13 is a better deal than 8 & 23. Simple....Can't see us trading away pick 8 in order to get two lower picks, nor paying over the odds just to get in a specific type of player.ie KPF. I would imagine that Shaw or anyone else for that matter will only be taken if they are rated at or about 8. Our recruiters have said in the past that we take the best available talent with our first pick - I can't see how that would have changed from last year.
IIRC the club sent email invites for tickets out sometime mid to late Oct (after trading week??)Does anyone who went to the last draft function remember when it was announced?

GC is going to have a fast midfieldSwallow, O'meara, Bennell and Martin. They will be difficult to stop.
Shaw is about 12-15 range from what I hear. This is a deal I think would benefit all three clubs involved:
Brisbane trade 8 & 23 to the Bulldogs, GWS give the Lions picks 12 & 13 (Shaw thing to get the KPF) and the Bulldogs give the Giants pick 5.
GWS will then get 1,2,3,5 (yes I know it sounds ludicrous) Anderson and Neade in the draft. With 20 first rounders on their list you would think they are open to upgrading 12 & 13 for a higher pick. The Bulldogs have to downgrade their pick but get the chance to develop another talented player at pick 23. Brisbane would most likely get Shaw and another high quality selection at 13. Just a deal that would give great benefit to all involved.
