I'd just like to direct folks to the thread search function in the top right corner of the page. It is super easy to search this thread for a potential draftee's name to ascertain what has been written about them.

Expecting posters to re-hash their opinion just because you haven't searched comes across as lazy and sends the thread into a maddening circle.

Fair enough, my post started with 'what are peoples thoughts on stringer', so i get that i could've searched... but at the same time:

• I followed it with a reasonably discussable point
• we are into our 84th page, about 80% of which has dealt with the top 15 picks... If there was a 'search before you post - no rehashing' rule, this thread wouldn't have been replied to in weeks... I still kinda think that the point of this thread actually is to be a massive circle of discussing the same people over and over to pass the time until draft day.
• typing 'stringer' into the top bar raises 5 pages of posts... and assuming that i click every single one, seeing as the preview gives one line, and go through ~120 posts looking at information, there is no guarantee that any of that relates to my point, or if it does, that it is up to date.

It isn't.

As for your other points, try skimming just the most recent two pages in the search results for 'Stringer' (which covers less than the past week) to get a sense of why some might find your post a little maddening.

Having said that, while your post did prompt my search suggestion, it wasn't targeted just at you. There are a few posters who I'd suggest follow the same advice. We've still got more than a month to go until the draft. Let's not send each other around the bend before then.

Should be a great player. IMO, "x-factor" is not really a factor - last year, the player (at least in my memory) talked down for not having x-factor was Toby Greene. Vlastuin is a well-rounded, ready to play footballer, who from all reports, gets it done. What "x-factor" do we need?

Vlastuin will probably go between our pick 8 and our pick 23, but I wouldn't rule him sliding just a little. I think he is a great footballer, who could be solid best 22 player, but he won't ever be a star. He seems to be pretty good at everything, yet I wouldn't say he has any real standout elite qualities other than his attack on the ball. His pace seems to be slightly below average but is not too much of a worry for mine. Best case scenario is that he turn out to be a similar type player to Brad Sewell, that tagging big bodied inside mid.

He is a very interesting prospect. Already 90kg's as well. I wonder if he will get drafted. Certainly worth a look IMO.

Spencer White has given some good results at the combine. Would've been Vic Metro but had a slow start to the year and was behind 3 very good players but has finished the season off strongly. Chris25 rates him and he should be there with our third round pick.

I doubt he will be there for the third round. This is a very weak draft for KPFs and I can see quite a few teams in need going with a flyer. White is a big power forward target which will appeal to a lot of clubs. He is not a mobile thin jumper type like Manson was and he has got the pace that has been missing from a few others of his type the last few years. Come draft day I think if we want him we might need to use pick 23 on him and it would not surprise me if he was gone before then. He did pretty well in the TAC this year and that would have allowed most teams to have a pretty good look at him.

I was sceptical of him for most of the year but I have eventually come around to him.

I wouldn't mind if we went down that path. If we get a quality mid at 8, 23 and 30 should be a KPF and KPD. A player of his size and arhletic ability is a fine prospect. And key forward we draft is for the future, not now, so we can take the punt on these types. His attack on the ball and speed would be a great compliment to someone like Lisle up forward.

I love the AFL website heralding him as the next Buddy... Donald is exactly right - it's Zyrus Manson all over again... A forward with X-factor, automatically Buddy Franklin. Zyrus didn't even get drafted!

That said, if Quigs has come around, he's certainly a good shot at getting drafted... somehow think afl.com.au might still be a bit premature calling him the next Buddy...

There also appears to be a few options appearing for KPF in the 10 to 30 range as well (Shaw, Jaksch, O'Brien and now White), meaning a suitable one should spill to 23 at least. It should give us more confidence to go best available at 8, rather than reaching for needs.

Great standing and running vertical leap - indicating a great strength base yet also plyometrically very efficient. Perhaps once he adds some endurance to his tank he'd be ready to rock and roll.

Considering all the elite KPFs (Daniher, Hogan etc) have all been snapped up, and what's remaining are all speculative anyways, why not go with Spencer at pick 23?

And Tippet may still fall to us for pick 8 if talks continue to sour for Adel and Syd. Then pick 30 on another quality mid!

I think with his athletic ability then he could be gone before our third round pick, but I don't think he is worth pick 30. Sure he has good athletic ability but to compare him to Buddy is a bit silly. It reeks of a fluff piece made by reporters due to a slow trade week. In saying that though there is a lot to work with, and he could be a long term development project.

Plenty to work with, we don't exactly have much on the boil right now in terms of KPF. Only Lisle and Ace, Ace we've said we see as a 3rd tall, and Lisle will be 1 of the 2 tall forwards in the future if he can keep improving. Not much to lose going for a project player like this. The Buddy talk is comparing the way he plays more so than his actual potential, and he is very Buddy like. Whether he can develop and be half as good is a different story. But, you don't get big sized KPF's who can run like the wind that often.

It was expected Nelson would be recruited in the second round of the 2011 NAB AFL Draft, but an illness suffered on the eve of last year's combine saw him lose 7kg, limiting his involvement in the testing.

He was passed over, despite a near perfect score of 29 out of 30 in the Nathan Buckley kicking test, and played the majority of his football this year with West Perth in the WAFL, averaging 25 disposals.

The hard-running midfielder posted outstanding times in the 20m sprint (2.82sec), agility test (7.85sec) and repeat sprints (24.31sec) to remind recruiters of his credentials.
