I'd like to see us take Hogan if we can get him. I don't know if pick 8 will be enough though. The Bulldogs and Demons could use an elite key forward prospect too and they've got two picks ahead of us. GWS could get pick 4 or 6 or both for their mini draft picks. Hogan if we can get him, but Garlett or Kennedy if we can't.

IMO I don't think so much WB but Definately Melb do. But it's elite mids first and foremost I feel that they need ASAP.

WB has quite a few KPF prospects.

Now they just need a good one... :D

What are the prospects on KPP around the pick 20-30 mark? We've shown in the past we seem to rank all draftees in order of talent based on our own judgement. We then draft the highest rated player in the list based on needs relative to pick worth. If there isn't much back around 30, we might go tall first up depending on who is available. Eg, if mason Shaw is there we take him and go tall, if not, we then go small and look for a tall worth our next pick etc.

Is it really a choice of Hogan if you can, Shaw or forget it?

Kristan Jaksch - Is one who is starting to rise up the rankings. I'd consider with our compo pick/2nd rounder.

Marco Paparone - Probably wont be power forward but can push up the ground and have an impact.

Tim O'Brien - Probably a bit underrated on here, He is a strong contested mark and a reliable kick for goal. His ground work is very good and so is his forward pressure.

I'd probably pick O'Brien out of that bunch.

But I think there is a better range of key defenders in this draft than there is key forwards.

I don't think we can get Hogan as Melbourne and Bulldogs are keen on him. If we don't get Tippett then Manson Shaw will be picked up via our first round selection (averaging 4 goals in the WAFL this season) or a classy fast midfielder (likey to be Garlett or Sam Mayes)

I'd be seriously tempted to see if GWS would trade mini draft pick 2 for our pick 8. If we can get Hogan with it, brilliant, but if not we pick up Martin who I think may well be a better player than any of the other mids we'd get at that pick. Thoughts?

I'm all for Hogan based on what others have said on the phantom draft board that have watched him. A KPP would most likely spend most of their first season in the reserves. We need some top talent in the 192-5 range

Unless we fail to get Tippurt then I can see the club gunning for pick number 2 in the mini draft, but that's if we fail to get Tippett.

Given that there is a high chance of pick 8 being traded is there any good KPD choices going to be around at our later picks??

I'd like to think Tanner Smith would be available at our compo pick.

Tom Clurey is another I rate highly.

Plowman will probably be long gone if we trade pick 8.

Yeah, I'm of the view that actually using pick 8 is probably option 3 for us.

Option 1 - trade to Adelaide for Tippett
Option 2 - have a crack at MD#2 and snaffle Hogan
Option 3 - use it in the 2012 draft

I'd keep Golby, Harwood, Drummond, Hudson, Lisle, Maguire, Patful, Raines and Retzlaff.

Cant possibly be willing to trade/delist them unless its for something very good, They all are important players going into the future imo. Delisting Goose and Patful would see our back 6 crumble.

I would go after saint backman Goddard in the free agency and trade to get sam gilbert qld to have back line
coleman-broome merrit hanley
sam docherty gilbert goddard

I prefer our backline the way it is now. Our backline is very good.

Surely your trolling.

there is an old saying sometimes to move forward you must move bcak 1st-- Goddard would be a great addition to our back line

Trading away every established player to continuously try get better players or draft picks will keep you perpetually in a rebuilding phase. Like a hamster in a hamster wheel. This isn't madden or nba live where u can trade rubbish for all the top players.

- as for options in forward line go after Jesse hogan and mason shaw --- brown will be there to nuture them
For how many years?

How long ? - depend on who we recuit - and how desparate these guys to be successful at the elite level - still stick with current lions 2015 target
