i was thinking around 25-40 now.. fair amount of risk. I know our jaded history with taking a injuried player previously but if he falls after 40 i would consider him. I liked the look of Ben rioli today
Looked good didn't he? For a bloke who's only 60 odd kgs he really puts in hard. Very smart, play making disposals too.
Mentioned him in my preview of the NEAFL Grand Final as someone who should be on an AFL list.
Works with one of the Clontarf Academies I think.Mentioned him in my preview of the NEAFL Grand Final as someone who should be on an AFL list.
Has real x-factor and can do it all on the field. Murray Davis would be in as good a position to evaluate his character as anyone.
great to hear another garlett on what i have seen of him on talent he is a gunOk guys. If we select Dayle Garlett in the draft, I will streak at our first home game next year shouting "we got Garlett" "we got Garlett"!!!!!!!!!!!
In all seriousness though I have not wanted us to select a player more then him since I wanted the Lions to pick Callum Bartlett in 2009.
I can't see how any club would risk a higher than fourth/fifth rounder on Menzel now. Smacks of Beau Muston and Bartlett. High draft picks both.
I'd love Hogan, but have thought for some time that we're no chance of getting him and my opinion definitely hasn't changed. Both mini-draft picks will be snatched up before we have a say, I think.

What are you envisaging? Dees pick 4 and Dogs' pick 5/6?
IMO, there are two possible scenarios. GC use pick2 for Martin and Melb for Hogan using pick 4. If GC don't get involved and Melb still go for Hogan then yes I could see WB getting involved for Martin. I personally think that WB already have at least three young KPF in Jones, Cordy and Roughhead and don't think they need another. If Melb went for Martin then this is where it opens up for us. I would just hope that our boys are open to the possibility of going for him.
