Tippett could just walk to Gold Coast in the PSD and they would get him for nothing, they won't give up their pick 2 for him. GWS can't pick up Tippett as they have already taken an Adelaide player with their concessions, Phil Davis, and are restricted from picking up another player without the clubs permission for this year.

I think that Gold Coast will probably get Tippett for Gorringe only imo.

Adelaide would be happy with that.....

Yeh read Gorringe has been to Adelaide for medicals

If other clubs receive end of first round picks as free agency compensation, does anyone know for sure whether they would be before or after our activated Rischitelli pick?

Surely it would be based on ladder position. The AFL seems to be making up the rules as they go along though.

Wouldn't it go on draft order? So if Port receive an end of first round pick (likely imo) then they would have a pick before ours.

What the other two said. IIRC when Kerr traded away the Brennan pick it was stated that it was done by ladder order, except for the second compo pick received which was always last. Somewhat amusingly, I think this was why we activated Harbrow's pick last year and Rischitelli's this year - because Rischitelli's was seen as more valuable, but the Bulldogs imploded.

Is it just me, or are the top 10 more exchangable than usual... Very difficult to forecast much of an order, unlike some of our previous years. Assuming the absolute worst (Grundy and Plowman - the only two high picks i don't want - both slide to 9+, and Melb don't have to take Viney til Rd 2), I'd still be happy with any of the following 8 (which we're guaranteed at least 1 to remain). I've put where I've heard them going in brackets too... they're also in my order of preference:

Whitfield (1-2 pick)
Toumpas (2-5 pick)
Mayes (3-10 pick)
Wines (5-15 pick)
O'Rourke (4-12 pick)
Garlett (5-20 pick)
Macrae (5-20 pick)
Stringer (5-15 pick)

Note: I've deliberately left out Mason Shaw (pick 12-20) and Vlastuin (pick 10-30), which I'm sure some would add... Just what i'm hearding is that pick 8 is paying overs for these guys...

So effectively, if we're guaranteed one of these guys (or someone the Lions' professional recruiters rate higher - in which case, they're the professionals, gotta hope they'd have a pretty good idea), I'd say we're doing pretty well... Opinions? Any of those you'd be unhappy with, or someone you'd rather?

We will be going after that Jark Martin Kid from WA. He is the second best talent in the country right now and will be better then Whittfield in a years time. The problem in that the Bulldogs are interested in him and the Demons might also nab him. He would cost pick 8 plus one of pick 23 or 30, but well worth it guys.

Hope not, who knows, it's like throwing darts with your eyes closed with what the AFL come up with sometimes. I would hope that as we activated ours first that it would take precedence.

On another note, the three flawed geniuses of Stringer, Garlett and Menzel! History states that players with injuries, susceptible injuries and questionable focus raise a red flag and tend to slide. I wouldn't be surprised if one of these were to slide to our compo. Wouldn't be surprised if they were all gone by then either. I pesonally would jump at the opportunity to have one of these at our club.

Wines or O'Rourke the 2 I am narrowing in on, different players but would both fill needs, O'Rourke was really impressive at the National Champs. linkup play and skills were great and Wines will be a very good Inside Mid.

I was quite keen on both of these, and still am, however recently have been getting a bit more keen on Garlett... i was a bit concerned about his behaviour - we all know we don't want another Fev situation, but from what I can see, he's shaped up, is eager to change states, and his coaches are singing his praises about how he's handled the fallout from his AIS debacle. Could be a good pickup.

I'd be happy with either Hogan or Martin in the mini-draft, will just depend what the powers that be say...

Still eager to trade pick 23 or 30 to GC for at least a couple of Cameron, Coleman-Broome, Boston, Bourke... GC prelist and trade to us, eat up some of our 6 open spots on the senior list - the fact that there are so many open spots makes me hope that this has been Kerr's plan all along...

I think we have done such a good job of cleaning out the average footballers on our list and we have drafted amazingly well last 5 years (regardless of 09, then still got Bartlett and Harwood) that we should not just fill our remaining list spots for the sake of it.. 3 high picks again this year then maybe a FA or trade or 2.. I trust our draft room to pick us better kids then trading those picks for 20-22y.o. who are still average.. just my opinion

I like the look of Cameron. Can play defence and forward, strong mark and so far he is doing a great jon at the combine. Be suprised if we don't recruit him.

Be surprised if we didn't want to recruit him, but we've gotta convince GC to pre-list then trade him (ala Zorko), or (if GC don't zone list him for themselves) get him ahead of others in the draft...

I Prefer Wines if he is their at our pick 8 or O'Rourke or Mason. Would not mind Garlett but it all comes down to his attitude during the interviews.

IF we dont end up with tippet which is looking more likely.....I would use pick 8 to pick shaw/jacksh (you know who i meen ) and also pick up cameron or Bourke later in the draft. Then hopefully secure Tickner next year and that would be our talls done for a number of years.

I havent seen much of cameron What is like as a defender???

True true beads... we've actually got a few draftable this year as well, which is pretty good:
From what i've heard of their values (I haven't seen enough local games to have a personal opinion):

Cameron - late 2nd or 3rd rd
Boston - Early to late 2nd rd
Bourke - Late 3rd to rookie
Coleman-Broome - I've heard anywhere from 2nd - rookie. Supposed to be the fastest person in the draft.

I'm not sure how reliable those are, that's just what i've heard. If we could get a couple for 23 or 30, we might be in a very good position - of course, dependant on how the recruiters value them.

Those american rookies 100+ kg super quick 20m sprints and elite jumps as well they'd be great as merrett style fullbacks we should check if we can nab at least 2 and hopefully one develops.

I would rate them:

Cameron - early to mid second round on talent, coming into the year he was rated higher but has slipped due to injury.
Boston - mid second round pick, excellent outside mid prospect
Bourke - late second round to late third round, has a lot of untapped potential
Coleman-Broome - Probably third round onwards, has a ton of potential as either a small forward or rebounding defender. Needs a fair bit of work, but has elite speed and good skills.

I don't think we could go wrong with any of these types as we need them all.

According to this video, Toumpas is a Brisbane supporter!!! I'm not sure I've ever wanted a player more. How do we get our hands on a pick that will grab him?

EDIT: Sorry Zhesty, just noticed you beat me to it.
