What about this Jake Stringer character??? Have I asked this question before?![]()
Interesting. I would still rather keep pick 8 for a top line player, then use pick 23 for a tall forward. Maybe Shaw will slide, as that is the trend with forwards over the past few drafts

I don't really know about character but he is my dark horse for 8. He is the kind of monster midfielder that Vossy has been trying to manufacture. He could be a Watson / Kennedy type mid if there are no recurring problems with his leg.
Is he more midfeild or more CHF ?????
Im not Quigley I know. At pick 8 we could go Mason Shaw he is a KPF and will be there most probably or Oliver Wines who plays a bit like Moloney IMO. Now that we got Moloney we should go for Shaw at pick 8 and a mid at pick 23 ie. Hrovat, Haynes, Simpson?,. At pick 30 we could go for either a tall or mid as at pick 49 we should go for a tall local boy in Clay Cameron or Jordan Bourke if they go into the draft.Who do you think we should be drafting with our first 3 picks Quigley ? Based on our needs to the talent available at those picks? KPF or mid at pick 8 ?

Pardon the interruption, but I just can't see Brisbane taking Mason Shaw. If they wanted a KPP at #8, I think they'd be much more likely to take Kristian Jaksch. He just seems like a better fit to me.
Otherwise I agree with Quigley. A midfielder at #8 and O'Brien at #23 is probably the way I'd go. And at #8, you could take your pick of whatever type of midfielder you wanted - Dayle Gartlett, Jake Stringer, Nick Vlastuin, Jackson Macrae, Sam Mayes. There is something for everyone in that lot.

Would the Tiges take Karny & Banfield + pick 30 for pick 9? Having picks 8 and 9 puts us in more of a driving position. Might be able use those/ possible player combination to go for a pick 2 or picks 12 & 13.
This is all happening at Hypothetical Village.
No, if we downgrade our picks, we get two talented kids. Last year if the Lions went on the basis on drafting the best avaliable kids then we would have got Toby Greene with our pick 8 and Sam Docherty with our pick 12. Execpt we went on our needs basis which we drafted Billy Longer. The same thing happen in 2010, Kerr was going to draft either Heppel or Polec. Execpt Kerr drafted Polec on needs Basis during the time and not on best avaliable. I'm just saying if we have picks 12 and 13 we can draft the two best avaliable kids hear, whether it is mids, KPP's, Rucks, etc. We still get two talented kids. In the 2008 draft, Gubby went for the best avaliable kids, with the picks we had and we drafted Rich, Redden, Rockliff, Banfield, etc. Gubby nailed that draft.

That works. I hate the idea of losing Karnezis but if he is seriously considering leaving I do like the sound of having pick 8 & 9.Karnezis + pick 23 + pick 30 for pick 9 and pick 50

ok
(pinched this off D+T)One Qlder who I like and has not been mentioned by anyone that I have noticed is Ryan Johnson. He is a KPD who lacks a little in height but is very good defensively and solid on the skills going forward. Jesse Wallin was also a go who I liked at the Champs who played as a top up player for us and did very nicely. Very quick flanker type.
