Noticed that Jesse Lonergan is listed at 91kg and 182cm, which is a massive weight to height ratio even for a mature player in the AFL, let alone an 18 year old. Also Plowman has a good running vertical jump (85cm, top 15%) which may (or may not) allay some fears about his ability to play as a key position player. Was surprised to see Ben Kennedy, known for his speed, only record a 3.00 seconds in the 20 metre sprint. Nathan Hrovat's beep test score of 13.2 is pretty similar to what Rich's was, so despite being a big possession winner, his endurance is still only average.

If we picked Towers with pick 8 it really would be a case of sit back grab the popcorn and watch the forum become like Gotham City in the last Batman movie.

I would probably be involved in the Gotham recreation, rather than the popcorn eating.:)

Mason Shaw didn't make Kevin "Shifter" Sheehan's top 30.

I don't rate Shifter's opinion particularly highly, but it's enough to think that he probably isn't in top 10 calculations.

Or is Shifter just part of the Fremantle Conspiracy?

According to the AFL draft countdown Kristina Jaksch could go anywhere between pick 8-14. The article stated that if the Lions don't take him Carlton may take him. What do people read into this?

So the first female is being drafted into the AFL?:p

In response to your question, I read nothing more that the author thinks if the Lions don't take Jaksch, then Carlton probably will.

Don't know why the AFL persist with that draft machine every year. It never works.

You've got to wonder if it's a case of a low response rate giving rise to a small sample size.

For example, I can't see Stringer's name anywhere.

Whatever the reasons for the skewed results, it really seems like a futile exercise....may as well just ignore I think.

I'd say naming 23 in a team would be at least one too many for starters...
Nah, then you just stack one on top of the other and voila! A ruckman!

Silly...

Unless I'm missing something, the basis for that article seems to be that Kerr said the Lions need another KPP, and Jaksch is a KPP. Doesn't seem to indicate that we've spoken to him or expressed an interest in him at all.

I still think we'll go with best available at pick 8, and may consider our team balance needs with our later two picks.
