A draft bonanza?

Bonanza_S1V1_DVD_Front.jpg

In this scenario:

1. Whitfield
2. O'Rourke
3. Plowman
4. Toumpas
5. Wines
6. Stringer

Does Menzel go before Mayes?

Apparently Menzel at pick 6 is what is going around atm. He is the more talented than Mayes, he is a fantastic natural footballer and one of the best medium forwards to come through the draft in recent times. His knees are an issue though. Mayes is perhaps the safer pick, but has less natural ability although he is the better athlete. If both were fit and firing I would choose Menzel without a doubt. It would be great if we could get Menzel at 8, but I think Port would get him first.

Worry for me is that if we pick Jaksch I will always mis-spell his name on here and his moniker will almost certainly be "Jacko".

What does the tweet say its not supported on my phone :(

IMO Port aren't in a position to take a big risk on a player who has had so many injuries and should go for the injury free player. That would leave Mayes for us!

Pretty fair chance, regardless of where he ends up, he'll be known as "It".

Surely the only picks that can be set in stone are the first three, unless of course GWS have told Melb who they are choosing.

It is saying that the top 4 are set in stone but the Bulldogs have not made up their mind.

Don't believe everything you read.
I assume the top 4 is Whitfield, Orourke,Plowman and Toumpas

They may have been aided by a handy father-son pick but Geelong absolutely nailed the 2001 draft. Bartel, Kelly, Johnson and Ablett in one go. Interesting that Bartel and Johnson were pick 8 and 24. Fills me with optimism.

It gives a false impression to say that the average is 99 games for players taken with pick 8. 9 players on that list are still active and so will improve the "average no of games". Of those 9, I suspect only Billy Longer is not part of their side's best 22 for 2013 - so you could expect something like another 150 games being added next year.

There is a young forward from South Warrnambool (via North Ballarat Rebels). Excellent Family, (dad played ressies for Fitzroy), very smart player, little bit of the brown stuff in him and he's a ranga. Tipped to go in the 50's.

We could do worse - that would make it 4 ex South Warrnambool juniors on the list.

Keep posted to lions.com.au today and tomorrow as the full-time Lions recruiters - Rob Kerr, Stephen Conole, Graeme Hadley, and Andrew Farrell - provide an exclusive pre-Draft insight for fans...
Absolute legend LI thanks for that!

Does he have a name? :)

Interestingly we'd have to take him at 33.

You wouldn't be talking about Louis Herbert would you by any chance? I personally have him in the second round and think he has a ton of untapped potential, which is usual with a lot of those country guys. I would say he is not much chance at Pick 33 given it may be a touch early but it only takes one recruiter to rate him.

Disco:thumbsu: - a quality young man - won't make it as a key forward but would be a menacing wing / flanker.
