Suns could put heat on Dees for Viney
Viney could yet cost Melbourne the No. 3 choice in this year's draft as a father-son selection, with Gold Coast considering forcing the Demons' hand.

While Greater Western Sydney is expected to pick Lachie Whitfield with the No. 1 pick - and not risk losing the standout 18-year-old by making a father-son bid - the Suns have done considerable research on Viney and are believed to be keen to draft an inside midfielder.

And the Demons offer the Suns pick 13 for Caddy as payback.

It could affect the Caddy trade if the Suns have forced Melbourne to use pick three on Viney. This would put another player into the top ten to improve the draft position of clubs chasing Caddy. It's probably in the Suns' best interests to bid for Viney with Caddy gone.

Well it would be common sense really, lose inside mid replace with the best one in this years crop... Or at least bid for him

Sin, who gives a crap about the dees. They can rot for another 100 years for all I care!!!
If its good for the Blues, then let it happen please suns :thumbsu:

So we'll draft inside midfielders to help Judd out now even though they won't be playing high level AFL football for at least 3 years, by which time Judd will likely have retired?

Reckon that burden will fall on the current mob and anyone we trade in or pick up in FA

Don't be narrow minded, have one good think about how old Judd, Carrazzo, Scotland and Simpson are and then realise how badly we need to draft inside mids who will be ready to step in once they retire. Murphy can't win the ball on his own and don't expect Gibbs or Lucas to help in that regard either.

...I fully appreciate that. But the suggestion was to immediately help our side and improve out best 22.

Mick has stated his requirements, we need hard inside mids to give Juddy a chop out. Forget any two bob outside mids or HBFs. Big bodied insiders will be our first picks. He did it with Luke Ball and he will do it for us. Look at our clearance stats in the 2nd half of the season we were crap

Word in Ireland is that Ciaran Kilkenny was back down with you guys for a weeks trial again last week

It would be a massive coup for Carlton to pick this kid up, he played for Dublin (reigning All Ireland champions) last week and was pretty much their stand out performer and he is barely 19. He has all the attributes to be a superstar in Gaelic Football (and I imagine every effort is being made to keep him in Ireland) so it would be interesting to see how his skills translate to the Australian code.

I just wanna say, please please please no more of these 180-85cm 75-80kg skinny types!!! And get us a kid that has some skill, some height, some bulk, can play midfield and rest up forward..... Jake Stringer is who I want and hope we get (Wines would be a close 2nd)

Screw what the Suns want, i'm tired of these expansion clubs pushing their muscle around on trades
If they don't take what the Club thinks is an appropriate ofer, I hope Caddy walks on them and they get nothing
It would be interesting if Sheeds offered Caddy $450K to nominate in the preseason draft giving the GC nothing in return. Would propbably come back to bite him.

Fair and rational point that doesn't belong in this thread. ;)

Could Menzel slide as far as Luke Mitchell?

Beau Muston didn't slide past pick 22 after having a knee reconstruction and some complications with said knee.

Beau Muston's brother didn't have the same problem as him.

Club's might of overlooked it if Troy had stayed healthy but now he'll be out of the top 30 minimum. Two serious knne injuries, a family history and a LARS.
