Think we should go for best talent with first pick then after that a KPF from a wafl/sanfl club may be Tom Lee (clarmont) or Justin Hardy (centrals) or someone like that anyone know players we should be looking at is their someone in a state comp we should have a look at ?

Why would any side waste a pick high pick on a mature aged KPP?
It never works.......................................oh, except for Harry Taylor.

Just pick the guys who will make us a better side, whether they be 18 or 22.
You don't see the big picture Harker. Carlton should have left Andy McKay on the shelf and gone tall to pick Nick Holland because he was a teenager. It's all about the players who could be good, rather than players who are already developed and address a need.

Bad run with injurys this year has lead us to get a much higher pick than any of us would have expected to recive this year. So its sort of a bonus high pick. I think we should package the pick up with Warnock or Lucas or someone that has some currency but isnt a full time 1st player yet, and trade it to GWS for a mini draft pick. So basically a pick 1 or 2 the next year.

What's the talk on where Wines will land? Seems to be some great big body midfield options.

Watched Stringer for Pioneers yesterday. He limps slightly and runs like a duck, albeit a very quick duck. There is an x-factor to him, nice kick, quick brain. When lamenting the lack of big bodies when we played Adelaide and others surely someone of his build will be looked at.

Wines looked plays like a dozer with good hands, like a slightly quicker McLean. We have one of them.

Luke Ball plays like a slightly quicker McLean, wouldn't mind one of him :)

Nathan Bassett, the secret assistant coach for Carlton, hey C4[2]Yo`DooR ?

Edit: More seriously, would make a great AFL assistant, from all reports. ..

Would be a tremendous AFL head coach in a year or two. Sincerely believe that if given the right opportunity that he would be one of the modern greats.

If we could add another McLean type, though quicker, to our list out of the draft I would be more than satisfied. We sincerely do not have enough hard bodied midfielders willing to extract the football. If McLean had pace to him he'd be on that tier right below the elites. Thankful that we've finally been able to see what Brock is capable of.

What type of players would we be targeting in this years trade period? Players such as Brendan Goddard or Travis Cloke, the "big names"? or quality fringe players who suite our needs such as a Koby Stevens type?

Can anyone let me know what draft pick we can reasonably expect from this years draft? More specifically our first pick. Somewhere around pick 6-9? Are there any compensation picks to factor in this year?

Don't think it would be that early. Fair few compo picks around the place so maybe 9-14

IIRC there are only 2 compo picks in total before our first round selection. Which as it stands would have us at Selection #10.

It would run something like this:

Gold Coast
GWS
Melbourne
Melbourne
Western Bulldogs
Western Bulldogs
Port Adelaide
Brisbane
Richmond
Carlton

All I want is a 190-193 centimeter powerful and ridiculously courageous inside mid who has pace to burn and a thumping kick with the acceleration and agility to beat most outside mids. Needs to have a good leap and a powerful contested grab so can swing forward if needed.

Is that too much to ask for?

Sounds a bit like Stringer

Sorry, left off "not injury prone."
No in all seriousness he looks like an awesome player if he can get back to where he was. Does he have the inside game though? I thought the mail was he was mostly outside.

A personal favourite of mine, bit of Carrazzo in the way he plays but at only 174cm his height will count against him.

Any relation to the big Port Melbourne forward?

The kick at goal at 0:30ish is very Carrazzo like

Kristian Jaksch (VIC – KPF/KPD)
Height: 194cm, Weight: 85kg, DOB: 07/10/1994
Recruited from: Oakleigh Chargers
Style: Matthew Pavlich (Without the midfield capabilities)
Player comparison:
Range: 10-30
Profile: Really promising key position player who can capably play forward or back to a high level. Really love the way his game has developed over the past few years and has continued to develop strongly this year and has quickly risen up most people’s draft boards quite substantially since this time last year. Jaksch is a strong overhead mark and is a real contested marking threat around the ground as well as up forward. Has very strong hands. Reads the play to a very high level and reads the ball in the air well. At ground level for a key position player also very good. Jaksch is an excellent field kick for a key position player and his skill level is well above average for a key position player and is particularly impressive by foot. Athletically Jaksch is above average, has a solid leap but also moves really well with good pace and agility but he should develop into more of a power key forward or defender with his strong marking game. I’ve also been really pleased with his effort around the ground with his willingness to tackle for a key position player, it’s rare to see a player so willing to give 2nd and 3rd efforts and chase as hard as Jaksch does which is a credit to him. Has the body type where he should capably continue to grow out strongly. Jaksch while he will most likely develop into a key forward it is worth noting that he also looks very good down back and can be a big rebounding factor with his ability to read it well and marking with his ability to take marks off opposition kicks as well as winning 1v1 contests. There is great potential for development and Jaksch appears to be one of the best key position prospects this draft has to offer.

Thanks to Knightmare. :thumbsu:

So Jaksch it for our first pick then?
