I guess they expect to finish lower in 2014 after losing Tippett with fewer compensation picks that year.

So picks 20, 54 is gentler than losing two picks in the top 35 in 2014. (Assuming they forfeit next year's 1st and 2nd rounders).

Adelaide fesses up to dodgy dealings apparently because Sydney are trying to exploit a clause in his contract that is later deemed to be draft tampering to force Jesse White's contract upon them AND take Tippett for way under his worth...Adelaide club, officials and Tippett charged with tampering and salary cap offences...AFL says Crows can participate in draft but not delist Tippett...Crows say we will give up our first two picks in the draft voluntarily and beg the mercy of the court...but how much mercy will pick 20 and 50 odd get them?

Meanwhile Tippett wants to be officially named a free agent so he can walk to Sydney, while Sydney have offered him 3.75 million over four years to get him via the PSD if the FA thing doesn't happen. Sydney getting him for nix is a sure thing and has been since the trade fell over, despite the dubious nature of his and their dealings. Talk about cheats prospering.

Hopefully their CoL allowance gets scrapped and they have 1 season to get back under the salary cap, leading to a mass exodus of young talent from the club esp after Tippett is signed on for 4-6 years on HUGE $$$.

AFL have their smokescreen after getting every hater riled up by throwing Judd and Carlton in the water as burley for the media.

They don't want to throw the book at Adelaide who appear to be a protected species and in the tent pissing out. Perhaps they owe the Crows one after Trigg and the club sacked Rendell on the AFL's insistence. AFL will let Tippett get to the Giants so everyone will be happy.
