So... Stringer or Wines? Either would be a good get, can we have both?
They would go well with Cloke, Goddard, Caddy, Dangerfield, Toy and Talia.

Anyone keen on Mason Shaw? seems like a good fit for us?
Yeah, I am. He's a very nice mark but I still reckon we'll be going for mids this year.

Now that I've had a chance to watch enough footage I'm confident we'll get a couple of very good players out of this draft, my favourites are a bit different to what most of BigFooty thinks though.

Your favourites are never what most of BigFooty think.

Everyone loves Kyle Hartigan though.

Which is effectively #9 as Essendon takes Daniher at #9, or #8 if Melbourne are forced to use #3 on Viney (which they should be made to do IMO)

Won't happen unless GC or GWS bid their first round pick on him.

O'Meara and Crouch should be in the top 10
- so that effectively lowers our pick down two positions in what player quality we actually are getting
Daniher and Vinery (hopefully) will go in the top 10
- so that kind of balances out the loss of the mini draft players last year

We'll hopefully be able to get a gem but this draft is rather sullied by the mini draft and father sons

Clubs won't let Essendon get Daniher for their second round pick.

Dogs will make them use it after they were forced to spend their first round and second round picks on Wallis, Liberatore and Cordy.

Melbourne would bid if they get snookered for Viney. :p

i think melbourne out of obligation have to take viney at whatever number although our melbourne friends seem to believe that they have a right to pass on him.

if gcs or gws bid on viney and melbourne didn't pull the trigger it would be a massive embarrasment to that club, which quite frankly can't afford to have anymore embarrassments.

also think of the PR melbourne would win if they took him at #3, it would be the embodiment of loyalty and good faith, might even change the attitudes of a few of there current players.
alternatively if they dont take him its another example of how all players are just numbers and as soon as they are no longer useful they will be discarded.

I think Gold Coast will bid, if they are to lose Caddy, then Viney is the ideal replacement. Melbourne will pull the trigger and take him at 3 if the case, he is definately a top 5 talent and will become a inspirational team lifter with the way he attacks the footy. Dont think melbourne will pass him up even if they need to take him at 3

I really find that this week has such a strange feeling to it... I hate St Kilda and each and everytime we play, I pray for us to literally ruin them. But with nothing to gain really from the win, I think a loss is what I am hoping for. Will will improve our draft choice by 2 places if this happens and Richmond get over the line. I hate this feeling :(

Silver lining is if we can pick up an Oliver Wines or someone like that. Not sure he will last that long, but who knows, especially if Melbourne are forced to use pick 3 on Viney. Otherwise, if Wines is taken with their pick 3 or 4 and then they get Viney in the second round, plus they also have pick 13, they will do very well from this draft.
