Opinion 2012 draft thread.

Just got a bit of information from a customer today & Take it with a grain of salt if you wish but what he told me was
Shaun Hampson will be traded & Warnock will stay. I said that really doesnt make sens as the senior coac hasnt yet been appointed and would need him to make that decision.

He just said that everybody at carlton were 100% sure that he just wont make it as a foward and he is the weakest ruck of the 3.
The gentleman that told me is extremely well connected at carlton.
would be interesting to see his trade value & I know that Tigers were interestd last year before Maric

The ONLY reason that sways me to the side of wanting to keep him is being able to boast that Megan Gale supports us :D

...really though, I see the promise, hope he stays

I din't think that Melbourne were going to consider a trade for first rounders, thinking that only The Dogs may be willing.
If we could deal with them, we'd be guaranteed a quality mid that we're desperately after.

Then again Hawthorn will probably front up with Savage and a second rounder and get the deal done.

Hope the Bombers can package Hooker and a second rounder to trump them.....

In all seriousness, we don't have the type of player they need which is expendable for us. I'd propose packaging Ellard and Curnow but they've got Mitsubishi Magna and 1+1=/=2 when trading.
 
Loved the introduction of Bell into the side this year - one of the positives to come out of so many injuries. I know he is not the saviour in this area but - a tall inside mid of good size who will hurt the opposition with his tackles - loved watching him this year and surely must continue to be in our side next year. Doesnt mean we dont draft another but Bell is a good place to start when everyone calls for this type of player.
 
Lucas and Warnock and our third pick for Melbourne's first pick?

Second round -- Rory Atkins, Nicholas Graham, Nathan Wright, Adam Carter, Sean Lynch (latter two are South Freo specials)

Third round -- Nathan Hrovat, Clay Cameron, Tim O'Brien

Wouldn't mind Sam Colquhoun with our 2nd, is said to have one of the best kicks of the crop this year

Dean Towers from the Roosters won the VFL rising star. Will be in draft contention and os described as a 189cm defender who breaks lines like no other.



...and no joke, supports Carlton.

Wonder if trading Hampson would end his relationship. .. Megan was a Blue before and might stay after. ..

Hampson + Megan = Top 5 pick. .. Hampson = Top 50 pick :p

If we got a good deal out of it I would be pretty happy but anyway for now I'm going to shelve that one with your Ryan Gamble and Beau Dowler to Carlton rumours ;)
