I saw someone post above that Colqhoun could be around at 2nd Rnd Pick.

If he is - snap him up, he is another half back flanker but he showed at the carnival and is a more mature bigger bodied player, could make an impact.

Playing loose he looks fantastic skills are elite! But he's defensive work isn't the greatest lock down wise.

I am praying to all heavens that Matt Haynes will be available at our pick or we can somehow upgrade our 2nd so we have a chance to get him.

Not sure how you go about identifying it but what we could really do with is a strong midfielder with pace and size. Good foot skills would be good too. A lot of the inside midfielders we have gone for have lacked pace and have been a bit one dimensional. Don't need any more inside blokes who lack a bit of pace. Murphy, Carrazzo and Judd who are strong, hard at the ball and have pace and skill, this type. Quick over a short distance too.

If we could land a real high class onballer who is quality all round athletically and skills wise then we will be laughing.

Has been listed as one of the VFL players that clubs may look at.
Would be behind Marcon though from most reports.

Thanks Harker! I saw a few early NB games. Both Lambert and Marcon were tearing it up. Definitely see bright futures for both boys.

I would actually want more from the GCS than just Caddy for #11, which will become a Top 10 pick as Essendon will use #10 on Daniher, and could be as high as #9 if Melbourne have to use #3 on Viney

I would ask for Toy to be thrown in as well. He will be leaving GCS for Vic and will be a good player IF he gets his act together. Richmond have been rumoured to be favorites for Caddy and Toy for #9 (a pick basically in front of ours in the pecking order) so I don't think it would be too far a stretch if things fell through there to get the same kind of deal for them.

Most of the stuff written suggests that Viney and Daniher would be close to certaintieis for the top 10 anyway, so the F/S commitments don't change the nature of our pick much

Melbourne will get Viney for a song with their second round.

To go first round he would need to be bid on by Gold Coast or Greater Western Sydney.

If Caddy goes Gold Coast might consider, but realistically he is behind Whitfield, Grundy, Toumpas and in league with several others.

This might change if either club are guaranteed Melbourne won't risk losing him, but for a pick in the top 3 that's a hell of a gamble

If we are thinking of Caddy and GC needs to cut down the list what about
Carlton > Pick 11 and 52 GC
GC > Caddy, Toy Pick 43 Carlton

I pulled those pick numbers out of my arse by the way.

I honestly do not get this whole Caddy talk, I would rather take our chances and draft a kid that has every chance of being just as good. If he does end up on our list, I wouldnt be against it.
Told my mate who went to school with him about the chance of us getting Caddy, says he is a bit of an a--hole though.

Just watching Mitchell operate tonight, that guy is exactly what we want although Mclean is close to it at the moment. Closest thing I've seen to Diesel really. Freak.

I'd still keep both and target Cloke and back our drafting. Midfield depth still a huge worry. Looking at Hawks' midfield, the worst of their bunch still has a big body.

Maybe I'm just losing hope after a crap year, it still looks great on paper.

Judd, Murphy, Carrazzo, Simpson, Gibbs, Robinson, Walker, Scotland, McLean, Lucas, Bell

If Cloke wants a million a year, then we should say enjoy the Fremantle Doctor for the next five years. The thought of Cloke chewing up so much of the cap sends a shiver down my spine.
Rather put the effort into getting Caddy and Toy as a package than commit so much money to one player. And chase a defender like Ashley Smith if Lucas or Ellard ask for a trade.

Just got a bit of information from a customer today & Take it with a grain of salt if you wish but what he told me was
Shaun Hampson will be traded & Warnock will stay. I said that really doesnt make sens as the senior coac hasnt yet been appointed and would need him to make that decision.

He just said that everybody at carlton were 100% sure that he just wont make it as a foward and he is the weakest ruck of the 3.
The gentleman that told me is extremely well connected at carlton.
would be interesting to see his trade value & I know that Tigers were interestd last year before Maric

Not true......rubbish

Melbourne are open to trading out one of their first rounders.
We should really work on this.

Harker,

Quite a few draftees have off field issues. More than previous drafts.
One recruiter has said that possibly 2 out of the top 10 that will be drafted have some issues.
Prefer to get an semi established player like Caddy + something rather than take risks when our window is open for the next 2-3 years.

That's always the tricky bit. Strengthen the present whilst having an eye open for the future.

No problem should we go for Caddy and exactly for the reasons you have outlined.
He has finished his apprenticeship and could be good to go in our best side come round 1.

If we do though need to lose players, I'd still love for us to have a first rounder in hand.
Confident that Rogers can pluck out a good one for us.

Agree

Disappointed about losing Russell. He has the body, speed and skills.

He is a player that plays on confidence and feedback. Unfortunately, he got VERY LITTLE from the coaching staff this year....

He will play well elsewhere....

Jordan Russel - DreamTeam lock DEF next year

No, if he had these attributes he would've been in our best 22.

He's not a great decision maker and his disposal by foot has been pretty bad for the most part. One good season doesn't make up for the other 6.
