Chalk, cheeseThe nickname 'Tigger', in reference to A.A. Milne's character in Winnie the Pooh, was given to Vlastuin by his mother who identified that her child was "bouncing all over the place" ever since he had started to walk. When the Knights' talent managers caught the drift, the name stuck.
While Vlastuin (pronounced floss-tone) thrives on the congested situations so that he can use his body strength to bullock his way through traffic.
"If you line up on an opponent, you can think to yourself he probably didn't run on Christmas and New Year's day so you've got that mental edge on him," Vlastuin told AFL.com.au.
"It's just about knowing you've done the work."
"Tigger flattened me a couple of times and he showed me the standard of where I needed to be at," Haynes says.
Vlastuin says his and Haynes' relationship is fostered on keeping things competitive.
"I hate it when he beats me," Vlastuin says.
"Tigger ticks all the boxes in what we believe a competitive animal is," Grbac says.
"I keep saying this to recruiters, 'You take him to your club and every coach will fall in love with the way he plays footy.'"

thylacine60When did Fitzpatrick say that, TG?
Out of the BlueIn his foreword to the book, Carlton’s three-time premiership ruckman Mike Fitzpatrick best articulates what Out of the Blue actually set out to achieve.
“Out of the Blue captures the essence of the Carlton Football Club. Underlying the stories of the dark Navy Blue, the great deeds, the brave men, the committed supporters and the political upheavals, is that indefinable concept of what it means to be ‘Carlton’,” Fitzpatrick writes.
“It is a state of mind, a system of belief, a way of seeing the world, a deep faith that, because you are Carlton, you belong to something great.”
Current status on our first couple of rounders from a couple of the more studious Phantom drafters on our boards.
Knightmare: #11 = Sam Colquhoun ......#36 Jason Pongracic
Chris25:.......#11 = Jackson Macrae ..... #36 Spencer White
From my limited understanding, I'd prefer getting Chris25's picks at this stage.
I know and it's just a bit of fun in the meantime and I'm also sure those names will keep changing.
We still have Quigley to drop in his usual monster although he takes more chances and can be further off the mark than a couple of the others.
you lost me at matty richardson, i don't understand how he relates to stringer...Matty Richardson had a fair bit to say to his team mates iirc... but then again he did play for flogmond which is semi understandable...
This from the only poster who tipped Judd to Carlton mid-year. I'm a believer!Stringer trained with the Bulldogs for a week last year and they were very impressed... although, Im not sure if thatw as pre-injury or not.
I wouldn't be suprised to see him go at Pick #6
Pick #5 - Garlett
Pick #6 - Stringer/Plowman

Bit early but my best guess is that we may go down the Tom Bell type left fielder.
Wouldn't be at all surprised should a 20-21 year old be picked here, as the one year on the list will tell us whether we have something to work with or not.
Stringer broke his leg at the start of last year I believe.
I think the doggies will jump on him. He reeks potential superstar and everyone knows that.
My personal sights are set on Jackson Macrae or Ben Kennedy. Although I have a soft spot for Floss-Tone
Not sure Kennedy fufills a need at all for us, he is only 174cm mid, so unless he is a absolute standout l would think the Blues will look to other options, we need to look at best available but also be mindful of where our list is at, not sure a very small mid is a need at all for our list.

Rory's storyRecruiters like his ability to shift forward and make an impact on the scoreboard (he kicked 12 goals in 15 games for the Cannons this year.)
Downside: There's some questions on his defensive running and work-rate, something Atkins acknowledges needs work. But he's improving that. He's not especially quick (his best time for the 20m sprint at the draft combine was 3.06 seconds), but he makes up for it with smarts and an uncanny ability to get around opponents.
Dayle doubleIn his own words: "I understand why [my dismissal from the AIS] happened and it made me want to fight for my footy even harder. I really wanted to let everybody know that I was going to change. I'm doing much better now. I think I'm more switched on, which is good. I reckon I have been able to show recruiters that I'm a better person on the field and off it."
