Don't forget... If Tippett goes into this draft, I cannot see Brisbane passing on him at pick 8. Would move us up in the draft order effectively.

Should Tippett go into the draft I see the top 10 going as:
Whitfield, Toumpas, Grundy, O'Rourke, Wines, Plowman, Mayes, Tippett, Macrae, Daniher.
Leaving us with the choice of Stringer, Garlett, Vlastuin, Kennedy, Garner, Jaksch, Menzel, Colquhoun, Lonergan.

So we look like we are only use 3 pick (11, 36, 56 and not use 71 or 76) and upgrade 3 rookies and we finished 10th But Sydney won the flag and are having 8 picks with the last 3 being 103, 121 and 139. there first 5 picks are between 20 and 70. I'm not saying that what we are doing is wrong or we should cut player A, B or C but Sydney seem to be a head of everyone when it comes to developing players and picking talent. Are we going to look back at this draft and say we missed the boat or are we doing the right thing?

People complained about our lack of forwardline structure all year, but more so than missing Waite, Hammer and other key forwards, it was the lack of Walker through injury or needing to be moved up the ground that killed us.
But he slaughtered Milne in the last game, and but for a terrible umpiring non-decision late in the game, would have been the first defender to ever hold him goalless at Etihad.
Just wish we had 2 of him.

They say that every year
If pinching players from other clubs like Mumford, Kennedy, Shaw, Mattner, Richards, McGlynn, Seaby, Armstrong, Morton, after they have been nurtured by those clubs first, equals being ahead when developing players, then I think the definition of developing players has changed. Yes some of these players were only fringe players at other clubs, but a number of them have come from clubs who have been very successful over the last 5-6 years & therefore have very good systems in place for players to come into when they are first drafted.
The real proof of their development ability would be demonstrated by then having a period of domination like the Cats & also having the same TPPs as the other AFL clubs, excluding GWS & the Suns. Yes the Swans have done well to win a couple of premierships over the last 8 seasons, but when comparing them to the rest of the AFL clubs, it is like comparing apples with Chinese gooseberries.

Why are people using Sydney as an example of kids developing well? They have had a hard core of premiership veterans around the club for years. Wish we were so lucky, but it's been Judd, and to a lesser extent Scotland

He meant Western Bulldogs, not Wayne Hughes. Absolutely every chance that they might pass on him. Macrae, Garlett, Stringer, Jaksch and Vlastuin are ones that will throw some mock drafts off the scent.

If Tippett gets past Brisbane, he's too talented for Hardwick who loves his list cloggers and role players.

I think either WB take him or they'll take Plowman, probably will be one or the other.
But think Vlaustin/Lonergan/Jakcsh would be a realistic chance to fall to your pick & play an important role in the futre.

Their salary cap couldn't possibly be that big. They're a young side and they haven't played finals. Questions should be asked if they can't fit in Tippett.
After what the Tippetts go up to, the AFL should force Tippett into the draft with no stipulations regarding his contract. The AFL could deregister him for six to 12 weeks, but he'll still get off relatively scott free if signs for big money. A club would welcome a fresh power KPF for the finals or a push at the finals.
