I also bet my bottom dollar that unless GWS surprisingly take Wines, there is a 0% chance that Melbourne will pass on him. Considering he's best friends with Jack Viney, has a strong relationship with Todd, and the fact that they push each other to be the best i cannot see it happening.

Jesus a Midfield rotation of Viney, Wines and Trengrove will be brutal (add Tapscott in there aswel)

Presuming Melbourne still have their pick to take him with

and Jones and McKenzie. It's just what they need, stop playing bruise free footy.
Need to be cautious when predicting a beast line up. One Melbourne supporter in 2009 predicted:
Oh well at least I know we'll have the best midfield in the comp by 2011. Scully, Trengrove, Davey Blease, Grimes and Morton all banging it down to the excitment machines in Jurrah and Watts!

Shouldn't really laugh at others' misfortunes but that is truly funny.
You sure you didn't make that up MM? It's almost too funny to be true.
haha I didn't make it up I'll quote the exact post:

Exciting times ahead for the Dees!!!

Emma Quayle was on SEN this morning discussing the draft, she had some pretty interesting thoughts:

  • GWS will select: (1) Whitfield, (2) Toumpas, (3) Menzel
  • Grundy will slide as far as Richmond selection (Pick #9).
  • Wines a certainty to be picked up by Melbourne at Pick #4.
  • Menzel is her pick to be the best player in the draft, has the ability to break games open and turn them on their head, and that will appeal to GWS, especially given their number of picks, they can afford to take a risk given his injuries.

Hey all, now that the draft is a little closer and the main thing coming up for the footy club I'll re-post these under 18s games for anyone who would like to have a look.

Despite being a Muslim, I love the look of Hams! Could be a nice little pick up late in t he draft.

This draft is shaping up to be an opinions draft for sure. There doesn't seem to be much consensus on the top 10 or 12 Picks.

It looks like the only ones SURE to go above our Pick 11 are Whitfield, Toumpas, Wines and O'Rourke. I also would find it hard to believe that Grundy would drop to 11, and considering our Ruck stocks you would hope so.

Got no idea who will end up with us. Could be any one of a 6 to 8 kids.

By the sounds of things, that would actually be a pretty awesome prospect. Warnock to hold the mantle til Grundy is ready, then Warnock becomes useful trade bait to net something good to go with the 5+ years of Kreuz & Grundy dominating together.

It would be shwoing a lot of faith in
Bell Robinson and Lucas if we were to take Grunyd
But i can tell you one thing Warnock would be traded as soon as the trade period opens up at the end of the year because Grundy would be ready to go.
Don't need him though, would prefer someone else take him and leave us O'Rourke Stringer or Vlastuin

Warnock's trade value this time next year will have gone up ten fold with the new rules.

If we're talking a couple of years down the track when Judd et al. are gone, a string of Bootsma/Bell/Robinson/Lucas to sit behind Murph/Gibbs/Yarran with Kreuz & Grundy working in tandem already sounds a great midfield. Then consider the several trade/FA/draft periods to occur.

Would be a great pick up and result for us (again, judging from reports).
