Just noticed that Knightmare has Kamdyn McIntosh going to Geelong at pick 16. Close checking defender like Alex Johnson. Would love if he fell to our 2nd pick. We need one of them

#16 Geelong – Kamdyn McIntosh (WA – Def/KPD)
I really don't see it.

I won't look back to my last wish list but at the moment I'm hoping for Macrae or O'Rourke if he slides, yet I feel that Vlatsuin may just be the player we want even if he doesn't have the speed that Rogers may be after.
Just don't see us going for Garlett or Simpson at this stage. Nothing to qualify that statement but like Libba, it's a feely, vibey sort of thing.

Would also like either Graham or Carter with our second pick.
If Garlett makes it through to us we'd definitely be interested, absolute elite talent who reminds me of Marc Murphy in playing style.

Vlastuin or Macrae would be worthy picks too.

Re-watched WA v Vic Metro this morning and I agree with you about Carter, every time someone mentions us needing a small defender he is the first player that I think of.

What about Temay?

Looks like the player Aaron Joseph would have become if his decision making and skills was a match for his speed, tagging, agility and hardness.

Menzel at 6 is a possibility hes definately one of the top 3 or 4 on potential, he could very well be the best player to come out of this draft. Same thing with stringer.

Im not so certain on vlaustin while his contested winning ability and leadership will be great. I think id rather pick up someone who is a game changer ie) stringer, menzel, mcrae

Just looking at Brodie Grundy's highlights on the AFL website.

He's exactly the big bodied forward the Bulldogs need. That he can ruck is a bonus. :) If, of course, he slips past GWS and the Ds.

Stringer is still my preferred choice if he's available.

Though the more I read about Menzel the more impressed I am, however (and please note that I am not a doctor) it seems that knees and soft tissue problems appear to be somewhat hereditary and his big bro has had significant problems. This scares me a lot.

Stringer on the other hand had a freak accident and seems as strong as a bull in all other regards. I just have a gut feeling he could be the pick of the draft and Pavlich v2.0.

Would also settle for Kennedy, Plowman or Jaksch.

Who cares :D:p
If there's an elite talent available at your pick you consider them.

I agree :)

FWIW I did my mock-draft last night - it wasn't really well received though by the "experts" on the Drafts and Trading Board.

1. GWS - Toumpas
2. GWS - Mayes
3. GWS - O'Rourke
4. Melb - Wines
5. WB - McRae
6. WB - Plowman
7. Pt Ade- Grundy
8. Bris - Jaksch
9. Rich - Vlastuin
10. Ess - Daniher
11. Carl - Whitfield
12. GWS - Stringer
13. GWS - Menzel

One of the more realistic mocks I've seen! ;)

Clearly they're just annoyed that you didn't pick a key forward for Carlton.

Persoanlly Whitfield didn't impress me that much at the Carnival games i went to anyway, wasn't a presence on the field.
I did notice the likes of Garlett/Grundy/Toumpas and Kennedy on the other hand, they really stood out on the day
Im sure Whitifeld si very good and likely to be No.1 but im certainly not devestated that we wont be able to get him.
Unlike in say Murphy's year wen he was a clear standout

oh no my Kennedy wagon has a rickity wheel now that it has become apparent that he hates victoria.
Anyone want to roll up with there wagon so i can jump off and join?

Im in the same boat, while i have seen him and he has been consistently very good. Ive never really felt like he stood out to the point where i was like wow this kid is the best in the country (ala murphy 2005). He may have a good all round game with kicking, marking, endurance, ball winning ability. But ive never really seen him turn a game in a damaging fashion like i have with Stringer, Wines, Toumpas, Menzel and even McRae.

While i think he will be a consistently good footballer like say a Luke Power (bad example but i couldnt think of anyone else who i would compare to), i dont think he will end up the best and be a game changer like i think with the others.

Also does anyone have any knowledge of Plowman? from what ive read he is a key position player and from what ive seen of his footage this is the case. However Knightmare and others have said he could well end up as a Inside Mid? im just not sure i can see it

Ive watched some of his clips and there is some great footage. In one clip he fends off one player swings his hand round another bolts past a third and kicks a goal from fifty.
he's 192 mobile, seems to get in at the ball

In juniour footy everyone over 190 can be played as a key position and it seems he has.
Knightmare says it will depend on who he's picked by. If he goes to say Brisbane he'll have his defensive skills groomed if he comes ot us, we'll build him as a midfielder.

That's the best one I've seen. Looks spot on

I think that Vlastuin would be a perfect fit for us. If he can move into space and spread like McLean can, then it doesnt matter how fast or slow he is. The ability to make space as a midfielder and get into the right positions is something as rare really as being able to read the play. And if you can combine the two of them similar to what McLean managed to do in the second half of this year, then you have someone special.

The AFL has come to it's senses and reversed the draft order, meaning picks are now called from 1 downwards.

Decision was made about 3 years too late. One of the more ridiculous decisions I've seen the AFL make, and there has been a number of contenders.

How anyone could think that calling from 10 down to 1 and then 11 onwards is a good idea, is well and truly beyond me. Whoever suggested it should be sacked on grounds of stupidity.

That's the main qualification for a job there J. Fat Vlad is stupidity in its purest form, with arrogance to enhance it, and all his lackeys have it in spades too.

But yes, you are right, that was up there with the best of their stupidity.
