Surely Collins would be rookie listed. Very odd that we'd delist him, only to put him in the exact same spot :|
He would be the highest paid rookie!

Clerical delisting...
Can you please explain this?
We will take more than the required number of players, even without delisting him.
This is what confuses me. We got rid of Thornton, Bower, Kerr and Russell, why do we need clerical delistings?Interesting and working back to the draft, that leaves us then, with either:
A 4/1 split being ND/Rookie, with Collins being #71 or 3/2 split with us picking up 1 rookie and rookieing Collins.
Without further knowledge, I just can't see the point of putting Collins onto the rookie list.
Bell will be the first of two nominated rookies with O'Keeffe likely being the second.
Dale and the new rookie may have time on their side, but where would that then leave Collins, other than hoping for LTI's?

I figured this is the case too, very unfair on Collins that his fate would not be in his hands.....all #ACisJC jokes aside.Once we know, it will become obvious but my guess would have been for us to see what may open up nearing the draft date.
We had to make the delisting in order for us to have an opportunity to give ourselves a possible four selections at the ND, just in case........????
If some gun is still available at #71 for us, we can then just look at rookieing Collins or maybe not at all. That's the best I've got but would love to know what the situation really is.
Gold Coast's Hine on North's radarALREADY looking to secure Port Adelaide's Ben Jacobs, North Melbourne has turned its attention to a young Sun.
Taylor Hine, a promising midfielder and tagger, has refused to sign a one-year deal to remain with Gold Coast and is firmly on the Kangaroos' radar.
It is believed the Kangaroos are willing to draft the former Calder Cannon in the national or pre-season drafts.
I can only think of one player in the last 20 years that we delisted and he went on to a prosperous career elsewhere - Chris Bond.
If we redraft Collins, there's an 80% chance we'll delist him in 12 months time. We already have Joseph, Ellard, White, Davies and O'Keeffe half out the door for next year and a few others on notice. That's enough depth for me.
that we delisted?Carazzo.
Beg your pardon
Plow anchor"It was a pretty frustrating year because the championships are something you build up to and work towards, so when I found out I couldn't play I had to take a back seat a little. But I was reassured in knowing that towards the end of the year I'd be able to come back. It held me in good stead getting a few games in later in the year."
"I like the way he competes, I like the way he positions himself as a defender, and I especially like the way he wins the footy in the back half and is able to find space and attack. Once we've got control of the ball he's one of the first ones out, running into space." - Calder Cannons coach Martin Allison.
??? How can you not understand
Azul made the point that we haven't delisted anyone that's turned out to be good since Chris bond.
O'Brien classSouth Australia's under-18s coach Brenton Phillips said he believed O'Brien to have great upside.
"He's a bit of a complete package in terms of his physical attributes, with his running capacity pretty sound. And he just attacks the ball in the air and he really tries to take the ball at its highest point," Phillips told AFL.com.au.
"He's a fair handful once he gets up and going. He's a very, very good pick if a club could get him around that 25 mark, [and] it wouldn't surprise me at all if he went earlier."
The 193cm product showcased his pace with a 2.94 second 20-metre sprint, while he tested in the top two per cent in the agility test (8.3 seconds). His repeat sprint results were also within the top 13 of players at the combine.
"Coming out of the country, he's still learning how to play the game so he's going to improve big time I think," Phillips said.
"Because he reads the game pretty well and attacks the ball in the air so strongly, I think he has the capacity to go down back and then be that damaging third tall type of player."
I saw him first!!

Nice problem to have if we have the pick of Garlett, Mayes, Vlastuin, Stringer, Kennedy and Plowman.
Look for Calvert to grow in popularity.
Calvert leads Rays to first win
Don't tell zeeCFC that knightmare's most recent phantom draft has us passing on Stringer for Mayes.

Love the Richmond supporters potting Stringer's onfield attitude when they have a character such as Dustin Martin on their list...
Logic has no place in a draft bandwagon thread.Maybe they don't want another personality like Martin on their list! Pretty simple theory one would of thought.
