How's Tomlinson tracking at GWS? Not sure they'd like to only have Davis (very good KPP) to be supported by only Mohr. They might have a look at Clurey is my thinking.

Tomlinson is good but it'd be nice to have the option to have him as a swingman hey zee, rather then forced into KPD full time.

Does Clurey suit their contested style? Zones a fair way off and gets caught short on the lead a lot like Bower used to.

Reading Clurey's profile, he reminded me of Bower too - but in a good way before injuries derailed emu's confidence. That he would he slide to 36...

Plowman won't be playing deep in defence on Daniher, Casboult or Tippett but as far as playing CHB he's going to be able to stick with anyone on the lead and match them for body strength.

If Grundy is passed up by GWS, Melbourne and Bulldogs both need ruck stocks and he is the best ruck prospect by a street. He won't make Richmond let alone outside the Top 15. Having said that GWS need rucks as well now they have delisted Brogan to fit in Tippett.

If Stringer makes it to #11, I cannot see him being passed up. If he gets picked up early, we need another mid or Plowman. Just not Macrae. He's going to be this years bust. Still like Lonergan, but won't mind if it's Stringer.

I'm on this bandwagon. A smart footballer who honestly should be top 10 except for his height.

Did you see his VFL form late in the season where he was very very good! was in the top bendigo players each week. His endurance may not be back yet but his footballing ability is still very much there as evident by this form

They can have Stringer if we can get Mayes who has played senior footy in the SANFL and is healthy.

Unless Toumpas slides, then the Dogs will probably be the spoiler and get a young Ryan Griffen.

Port could still pass on Grundy if Mayes is available.

You can see Mick moving Mayes into the middle like he did with Pendlebury and Thomas.

Seems a good fit for Rogers' speed is King comment.

if stringer is not available or blues dont pick him up, would like blues to get kennedy. with too many inside midfielders at the helm it would help murphy, simpson and judd

Judd & Joel Selwood are two obvious examples of why it could be dangerous to rule an extremely talented player out because of previous injuries.

That's more easily fixed than a player who could be running with a gammy leg.

Been thinking it over. Perfect draft:

Kennedy - Inside mid/small forward. Excels all round, only disadvantage is height. Typically I'd say small forwards are surplus to our needs, but Ben can and will be just as damaging up-field
O'Brien - Rangy tall forward with X-factor who'll add depth to our KPP in years to come. Probably a third tall forward at AFL level
Corr - Aggressive KPD who will almost certainly be gone by here. Versatile and athletic
Temay - Endurance athlete with a work ethic I love. I could live with him at our second pick. Reminds me of Carazzo in how he moves, probably would start as a HBF

Always love reading the mock drafts, even though there's little chance anyone will get close its always interesting to read the opinions of those who have seen these guys a fair bit.

In terms of your mock, If we ended up with Kennedy, Carter and Corr I would be thrilled. Of the players you have available I'd want Stringer, O'Rourke and Menzel before Kennedy, but that's just personal preference with little of substance to back it up. Regardless, I certainly wouldn't be upset with Kennedy who looks to be a pocket rocket.

Carter is the one I want with our second selection, and I've said as much for weeks now. We really do need a small defender, and he sounds like a very good option who is capable of adding to the midfield rotation in time as well.

We had a fantastic draft in 2010 with regards to taller players but I think we'll probably look to add another. Corr has been talked about as a solid option further up the order than what you have him so again, I'd be happy with that although I think a tall forward may be a higher priority rather than a defender.

One player I'm interested in asking you about us Jarrad Lienert. What are your thoughts on him? We probably don't need a player like him, but he's one I'm warming to on what I've read. Projects as a similar player to McInnes, with a more attacking nature. Would that be correct?

How many games have you seen him, the reality is we are not going to pick the complete package, Garlett has some issues along with, Stringer who has a query on his body, if Mayes does happen to drop to pick 11, pretty sure we would be thrilled to pick up him, based on most experts he is expected to go in the 5-8 range.

The reason I went with a defender rather than forward is that along with losing Bower and Thornton this year McCarthy moved forward towards the end of the season and did well and I could see him straying there as a roaming lead up type third tall.

Yeah Lienert does absolutely nothing for me. Gets out positioned or doesn't make good position, doesn't hit the contest in that desperate way McInnes does and not overly quick to play the style he tries to.

Perhaps not good enough in the air which coupled with his lack of height could make him a bit of a liability as many of the AFL's small forwards are excellent overhead marks.

Would produce some sizzling football combined with Yarran once the ball hit the ground though.

I wouldn't.

Think we'd be hurting his development as he's more of an attacking style player, who size limitations make him unsuitable for a vast majority of opponents. He'll tear it up on the HFF
