Please expand on this statement . How do you see the draft playing out/what information do you have that suggests we might net him.

Doggies apparently still deciding. Was told a few days ago that was likely where he'd end up otherwise he'd be available at out pick and we'll take Vlastuin over Wines. Today speculation seems to be Doggies won't take him now and go Macrae.

Having said that if they do go Wines then Macrae will likely last. Either way it's a win-win for you guys I'd say?

Yep it is shaping up to be a great result either way. Would prefer Wines, as we need a class inside mid and he could have an immediate and replace Judd in the not too distant future, but a class mid like Macrae would be great too.


Side note, what is it about Vlastuin which would see him selected over Wines ???

Brissy could go for Wines due to Black having one year left. I can't see Wines sliding that far. Hope I'm wrong and we get a slider like Lucas who wasn't tipped to get to 11 or 12 three years ago.

From what I've heard and it's not from Brisbane so take it with a grain of salt but they're locked into Jaksch apparently. I think Macrae fits the Doggies better and Wines you guys better so Dogs should do the right thing by both of you.

That makes most sense from needs POV. Don't think there is a gap in talent between them.

Vlas struggled with injury this year pushing him to a back flank because he couldn't get his tank up. (bung ankle) Was a fair way ahead of Wines IMO at start of the year and our recruiters have in the past backed in guys based on 3 years worth of viewing instead of 1. (Elton last year for example) From what I've heard his kicking and leadership are what we rate over Wines. Vlastuin will likely captain us after Cotchin. Wines has the tank and has this season been able to accumulate a lot more ball. You better pray no one steals Vlastuin though otherwise I think we'd take Wines as a back-up plan.

Yeah I don't know how he can be saying Brisbane won't be picking up either Jaksch (who he predicts will get to Richmond) or Wines (who he predicts will get to Carlton). Who will Brisbane be taking if it is neither of these two guys ???

More than 24 hours out and I am excited, scared and frustrated by everyone saying (from a source) yet I can't look away from what people are saying on here. Wines would be a mad (in a good way) addition to our team. Easily my first preference.

Hopefully the Bulldogs drafting of Clay Smith last year sees them overlook Wines (given they already have Liberatore on their list also).
