Yep it is shaping up to be a great result either way. Would prefer Wines, as we need a class inside mid and he could have an immediate and replace Judd in the not too distant future, but a class mid like Macrae would be great too.

Side note, what is it about Vlastuin which would see him selected over Wines ???

His nickname is Tigger and hes going to the Tigers.....duhhhhhh

Now is the time for Brisbane to take a KPF to replace Brown. Brown will retire in 1-3 years and by then Jaksch, a top 10 pick will be hitting his straps. KPF any further down would be fairly speculative. If Port take Grundy too, we'll have a very good pick coming our way. Port are a bit lacking in the midfield department though.

Brissy could go for Wines due to Black having one year left. I can't see Wines sliding that far. Hope I'm wrong and we get a slider like Lucas who wasn't tipped to get to 11 or 12 three years ago. ;)

Im not so sure, they have Redden who could come straight in and play that Black in and under role. They have no replacement for Brown and Jaksh seems a great direct replacement for him

Blues secure vintage crop.
Vintage draft for blues.
Reds, whites and blues.
Blues draft a corker.
No wine-ing from the blues.
Malthouse: Wines worth bottling.

Nearest the pin...pick the lamest HS heading should Wines slip through to us.

Why wouldn't they draft the best talent and think of the long term?

Moloney is only a short term fix.

R: Leuenberger Rich Rockliff
C: Polec Wines Redden

They could target a tall with pick 24 if Wines slides. Doubt that a bull who looks as big and as hard as Martin and Dangerfield is going to drop to 11. Wines runs a 14.2 beep, so he still pushes himself hard with his running and work ethic.

Thinking Macrae is the best slider we can hope for. If not Macrae, then Menzel, Kennedy or Vlastuin if Richmond gets Grundy.

Anyone else think that Shane Rogers looks like Mr. Burns?

IF we end up getting Wines at #11 then what next ??? I would say our next priority would be a KPF (was White) and a small shut-down defender (Carter). If we could get either/or/both with our 2nd and 3rd rd picks then I would be pretty damn happy with this years draft

Unless we're going to be just picking three 'young players' with those picks. This means If we use 71, 76 or any in the rookie draft then they'll be tried and tested players i.e. AC/Riemers (god forbid).

Recent news could have us with the following:

11. Wines
36. Membrey/Broomhead
56. Temay/White

71. Curnow as Surprise Rookie Upgrade (is this even possible?)

Rookie Draft: Collins, Travis Tuck

Carter, Graham, Haynes Broomhead for mine I recon white will be gone.

C4 I was thinking more along the lines of Dr edlstein?

It could be read as 3 live picks - can rookies be elevated on the night?

Pick 11 - Ollie Wines
Pick 36 - Adam Carter
Pick 56 - Kyle Reimers ;)
Pick 71 - Andrew Collins
Pick 76 - Ed Curnow (rookie upgrade)
Pick 90 - Levi Casboult (rookie upgrade)
Pick 102 - Zach Tuohy (rookie upgrade)

Switch Reimers with a tall (eg White) and I am pretty happy with that draft.

P.S if we are struggling for cap space then surely we would be less likely to grab mature players in Reimers or AC in the draft ........

Reimers was tongue in cheek. Really hope we don't pick him up. Has talent but that's about it. Would be far more comfortable with us taking a kid.

If we do pick Reimers up I can't imagine it would be for much more than base wage.
