I can't help but wonder how Kane Lucas reacted to the drafting of Menzel....

We have 3 198cm project key forwards on the list right now, who'll compete for spots in the 2nds.I would have thought that if we only had 1 spot on the list we should use it for another project key forward.

Depth is good, yet I can see Lucas being an option to play forward/midfield like Walker, only without the X factor. Hope Menzel can stand up to allow to Walker play higher up the ground and add some speed to our midfield. Really need Lucas to stand up and take a spot off Armfield who will feel the pressure from adding Menzel.I don't see them as particularly similar in style. Lucas predominantly a midfielder capable of pushing forward, Menzel probably more the opposite way around.
No reason why they can't both be in the side.
(ick face)How many project key forwards do you think we need?
We have enough tall forwards on the list now. The issue is keeping them fit.
The Wrist ManagerFor those that were listening, what was The Wrist Manager's opinion on our choices?

Settle down, we're talking about what, a 17/18 y.o. kid here - he has time on his side, and considering the support he'll enjoy hopefully a team gives him a chance.
We're in fact one of the best placed teams to provide that - would not mind us giving him a shot at all.
Another one. Casboult has played a handful of games, Mitchell 1, Rowe 0. I am hoping that 2 of the 3 make it. My gut feel is that only 1 will. Waite is aging and injury prone.
What you are assuming is that all 3 are going to make it as key forwards? To have a strong list you would probably want 3. We don't want to caught short in a few years if they all don't work out. Only my opinion.

Rowe would have played if he didn't get cancer.
You can add Hampson to your list there aswell. And depending how Watson and Paddy Mac develops at CHB, Henderson could move to CHF.
We have alot of young tall forward options.

Where is Parrot to write about our top-shelf talent and bag the crap out of Richmond in the process?
EDIT: okay that smiley face is nowhere near the same.
Beat me to it IBB.
Jamo holds down FB and Laidler takes the third tall. You can also throw Simon White into that mix as well - thought he was pretty good when he got his chance late in the season.
Simon White is somewhat the forgotton man. Although everytime he has played I have been quite impressed with him.
If he can stay injury free he could suprise a few people.
We have a solid group of talls developing at boths ends and alot to look forward to; Despite what the negative nancys might tell us.
Definetly not sold on Rowe yet. Before he had cancer he really struggled in the NAB cup.I just dont see it.
Henderson is not a key forward. At a pinch you could swing him down occasionally. Best football is CHB
Hampson will never cut it as a standalone KF. As a resting ruckman perhaps. Hampson will not stand at full forward and kick us 50+ goals.
Mitchell is our best hope IMO. At least he can kick straight. Very hard to judge on 1 game.
Casboult. Love the guy. Kicking action is deplorable. If he cant get that right he wont make it.
I really think it is up to Casboult and Mitchell. If they both don't make it and Waite goes we will be in a world of strife in a few years.
I dont think there are many defences that are concerned with our current crop of key forwards

Mitchell is at least 12 months away from getting regular games at AFL level.
He needs to get through this preseason, get a full season under his belt, and then get through the 2013/2014 preseason.
What would be ideal is Watson can hold down CHB, and then move Henderson forward.

I think Malthouse will hold to much value on Henderson in defence
