So Hardy and Frost as late picks?

Yeh, late picks or rookie picks would be great.

We would need to delist 4 to have more than 3 picks, which means 4 out of these 5 will need to go.

Roberton
Crichton
Faulks
Anthony
Ibbo

I can see Roberton, Crichton and Anthony leaving. I had expected Ibbo to stay, but the longer he stays out of contract the more I think Carlton or someone is after him, or he is saying Team X offered Y dollars\years, either match it or i leave.

The question the recruiters need to ask, is Frost an upgrade on Faulks.

One option could be to take 3 draft picks during ND and if Frost and \or Hardy is still available delist a Faulks before the PSD draft and pick him up then.

Irrelevant in the sense that it's succession planning - Faulks is 24, fills a role for the next 5 years, by the time he's looking to move on (assuming we dont have anyone else coming in during that time) Frost will be peaking. I don't see why we can't have both a second stringer, and a developing KPD on the list. It balances us out a little better

We only have so many spots on our list. I don't see us draft Frost with our first 3 picks so that means we either rookie him or we get as a late draft pick or psd.If we want him on the main list then we must delist 4 of the 5 people i listed above.

I don't think Faulks is going to make it, which I think we should look at players like Frost and Hardy.

I think Hardy would be an upgrade on Bradley and a good second forward to Pavlich.

Hardy was looking good in your write up until I read he's achieved less than this guy - Daniel Schell who won the award in Premiership years 2004 and 2005

Are these blokes really much of an upgrade on Kelpar or trying to develop Clarke as a KPF?

At 196cm I think he has more of an ability to step up at AFL level and the buldogs weren't the dominate team this year, they were in 04\05.

The big question is he only a SANFL\WAFL players AKA Schammer, Schell\Murphy or is he a player who can step up to the next level AKA Barlow\ Posaidley etc.

At the very least invite him to train with us with the chance of getting a spot on the rookie list.

Does anyone know how he went in SA Draft Combine?

He kick 66 goals in the SANFL, Kepler and Clarke didn't do near as good in the WAFL. I think he worth a shot, even if he only add depth and options so we dont have to play an out of form Kepler\Clarke\Anthony as there is no one else.

Ben Kennedy is a gun, looks like a Schuey clone without the unnecessary ducking of the head. Would compliment our team nicely. We'll fix the key position stocks outside the draft IMO. Free agency style.

Agree with you on Kennedy on both ability and fit for us. If he's available at our pick and there aren't any good talls available we'd be mad not to take him. I do still think we can get some KP talent in the draft though.

Just read an article that Brisbane might still go after Tippett. I hope he elects the draft as surely he'll have to get taken in the 1st round otherwise Sydney will use their first pick. Should mean an extra KPP slides as a result to pick 17.

Sounds like Pods from Geelong, if we dont take a Tall with our first pick, this could work, but we may have
to give up pick 40 instead of 60, going by Tom Lee result.
Mature age players are more highly valued, thanks to Freo, Saunders rookied would be nice too.
Seems like an easier option.

makes sense.. every stk player of the last 40 years has been linked with us this year, so i would be more surpised if he wasnt mentioned.

Wont happen

Emma Quayle claims that most AFL clubs have lost faith in the strength of this years draft. Maybe our recruiters sensed this last year and that's why they traded our compo pick for pick 20 in the 2011 draft.

Yeah, nah. That was because we thought we'd lose pick 16 for Clark and still wanted a first rounder last year. When he p!ssed off to Melbourne at the last minute we were left having cashed the pick in for no good reason. But we spent it on crozier... And I've got high hopes for that kid.

It was circumstance, not foresight.

Any one have any updates on the current state on which players we will delist?

My guesses
Roberton - Offered a contract but wants to go back to Vic. Has been given time to decide.
Crichton - Surely delisted
Faulks - Not sure, I would think he would given another year unless he doesnt want to spend another year in the WAFL. The roberton contract may also affect his situation, if he stays then Faulks goes.
Anthony - Negotiating exit to contract.
Ibbo - Surely has been offered a contract, but he either wants more and there has been some interest from other clubs.

We need to 3, so I have Crichto, probably Anthony and Roberton.

If Roberton stays, then Faulks goes with Ibbo signing a reduced contract. If we delist 4, it probably means we will sign Gram or someone else in the PSD.

I can not see Ibbo leaving after 23 games, so it must be contract size that is holding up the deal. I can see the other 4 leaving.

Next year's delisting will be harder

I think we all said the same after Broughtons 15 games this year.

I guess Broughton playing 6+ games as a forward was a warning sign, as well a Spurr getting picked over him in the BP was as well.

I wonder if RTB felt he didnt have pace required to play the lock down position and didnt have the skills\penetration to play the distributor role.

Ibbo played all year in his position HBF , and with Broughton gone I can't see him leaving.
