Wish List: Hogan and Lee for 1st Round pick + player.

Gumbleton for 3rd pick or later.

One KPD and one Mid through the draft

Crichton + McPhee(back to vic) + (Anthony or Faulks) + van Berlo delisted

Grover retired.

One more delisting if player is molller to elevate Pearce, and our KPF problem is sorted for the next 5-7 years.

Not too unrealistic but I can dream :)

I we can snare Lee with the similar scenario used to get Mzungu & Faulks it would be great.
If we can get one of the mini draft picks it would be great.
If we can get Gumbleton for not much it would be great.
If we can hold on to our first round draft pick and use it on Shaw, Stringer or Menzel (I haven't seen the last 2 play. I am just going on descriptions) it would be great.
I think this drafting / trading period will be great!

Melbourne have apparently decided to delist Lucas Cook if they can't trade him, he was taken as a highly rated 1st round KPF ahead of Darling in 2010 draft and has never played a game. I guess if Melbourne are delisting him must be some major issue there but in light of our needs would he be worth a late pick? Anyone know anything about him?

Still reckon we need a good quick, lock down defender who can take on and keep quiet the Milne, Garletts, Betts, and Rioli´s of the AFL world. One of our Achilles heels over the years.

Wonder how Mellington would go down back.

If we had of picked him in that draft we posters may have been happy because we need KPP's. reality is.....hard to find the gooduns

Has to be a high pick KPF like Hogan or Shaw - as mentioned quantity does not make up for quality with KPF otherwise you fill your list with JA/Ryan Murphy/Campbell/Houghton/Sibosado etc. etc. types.

So probably go hell for leather trying to trade up our 1st selection/get into the mini draft to get quality plus look at the FA route to add some short term depth with Goddard or other. 2nd picks etc are best available as per normal although mature agers might be considered maybe.

I think Spurr really improved in that area this year, did you notice his game on Callinan in the finals?

Good to hear Lyon still believes we need KPF.
Halfway through the season he said something about our key forward stocks are very bare.
When i heard that i thought, great he is going to try and fix that problem in the draft.

Then hearing him talk about how our mids arent up to it and we need more quality, made me think oh crap here we go again more flanker types who could play mid come draft time.

Oliver Wines is the dream for our first rounder.. but 90% sure he will be gone by the time we enter

Otherwise Shaw/Stringer/Jaksch (Sp?)

If giving up our first rounder and a best 22 flanker (im thinking Ibbo, Suban, Broughton even) would get us near Hogan i would take the punt and go for it.. getting pace thru the middle with 2nd, 3rd rounders or Tom Lee

Our defence is much better organised to accommodate and account for opposition smalls. Spurr, Mcphee, Broughton, Ibbo (well, most of the time) are more than equipped to play their role. Honestly not too worried about the position.

I have a feeling it would be a bit like the Yarren dilemma. Clearly the most talented but...

Mercurial footballer, but very selfish at times. Has amazing pace and skill, the dynamic spark we need, however we'd really have to back ourselves in when it comes to ironing out the less desirable aspects of his game. I actually think he would be best suited leaving Perth and getting into a different environment.

Lyon has turned walters around.

Here's my assessment of the KP picks in this years draft from W.A, ranked in order.

1. Jesse Hogan
2. Mason Shaw
3. Brant Colledge
4. Tom Lee
5. Marco Paparone
6. Alex Howson

Fair to say Fremantle will end up with 2 or more of this crop on their payroll by the end of the recruiting season.

No rating of Jakchs? Don't class Stringer as KP?
